How do I rent trucks or tools?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool or truck. Can I rent a tool for a day?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before choosing your truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
