The Home Depot Rental Center at Lower Heights

Tool Rental
Kick off your next DIY project with confidence and the best tools. Let The Home Depot Lower Heights Tool Rental Center fill in the gaps in your toolbox with the items you don't have on hand. Rent a tool and return it when you're finished. In fact, if you found the tools so useful that you didn't want to return them, ask about purchasing used tools. The retired rental tools are discounted compared to the new items in our aisles.

Tame the Bushes and Lawn Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower rental, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw, and the sidewalks and driveway with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers before you know it.

Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, upgrade your insulation in the spring — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent specialized equipment for insulation to get it installed correctly. Choose from a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies with ease. You'll enjoy a more consistent home temperature and steadier utility bills with new insulation.

Truck Rental
If it's time to get going on your next project but you need a truck to do it, come to The Home Depot Truck Rental Center. From flatbed and pickup trucks to Penske moving trucks and box trucks, we've got the transportation you need. We'll have the right size for your project so you can keep your job on track. Rent a truck to check off more DIY jobs from your list. Check with your local rental center for availability, as it is subject to change.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle expansive projects with the right pro power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the scissor lifts and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers and mini excavators capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're mentioning specific truck, large equipment, and tool rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular piece of equipment in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent large equipment, trucks, or tools?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what trucks and tools are up for rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You may also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is at your favorite store. For more information on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes terms and conditions for the equipment.

Can I rent large equipment or a tool by the hour?

You can rent a tool or large equipment for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and long-term projects are no problem. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I bring the tools back?

You can return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a week?

Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before selecting a vehicle.

Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the rental truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

How do I receive my large equipment rental?

Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered to your job site for a reasonable cost — at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid penalties and extra fees on my large equipment rentals?

Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
