When you're preparing to dive into a DIY project, you might not have every tool you need in the shed or workshop. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot N Haven Tool Rental Center.
Tool Rental
Our tool rental choices enlarge your toolbox and toolbelt with the exact tools you need to complete your DIY project. It's impractical to buy a specialty tool when you're not using it often. When you're thinking about buying a new tool, do a trial run first before you choose which to get. Whatever your situation, we have just what you're looking for.
Rent Shop Vacs, Floor Sanders, and Post Hole Diggers
Tackle major projects with robust power tool rentals. Take your scuffed wooden floor to the next level with a floor sander rental and a shop vacuum to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Construct a new fence around your pool or property faster and more efficiently with a post hole digger rental, then use other concrete tools that suit your project.
Make Painting Easier with Rental Scaffolding and Ladders
Make the most of longer spring days and paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get professional coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Ladder rentals help you reach high places when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry extension ladders and step ladders for medium or smaller jobs, so you won't have to wait when inspiration strikes.
Rental Trucks
To make it easier to transport large tool rentals, we keep box trucks and cargo vans ready for rental — with availability varying by store. Choose the right size truck rental for your project so you can keep your job on track. As your trusted source for storage needs, DIY projects, and packing, it's simple to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.
To get transportation and tools for your moving or DIY project, check out The Home Depot Tool and Truck Rental Center in N Haven. Having the appropriate tools for the job is important, so let us help. We're your one-stop-shop to get from doing to done.
How do I rent tools or trucks?
Stop by your local Rental Center to see what tools and trucks are up for rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck or tool. You may also visit our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is available at your store. For more on renting tools, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent a tool for an hour?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or pickup truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the week or the day, depending on how long your project is. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before choosing your truck.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements, so read those if you plan to rent a Penske truck.
