Tools & Truck Rentals at The Home Depot Near You

The Home Depot Rental Center at North Irving

Take on any new DIY project with the tools you need — even if you don't own them. Rent the tools, use them, and return them when you're done. Complete your project without taking up garage or shed storage with tools you rarely use.

Tool Rental
Using The Home Depot North Irving Tool Rental Center helps you handle more complex DIY projects. Break free of the limits of old tools and rent up-to-date tools made to suit your projects. Rent quality tools to complete your project confidently and safely. If your local store doesn't have the tool you need in stock, try checking another store within driving distance.

Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
To make your home more energy efficient, upgrade your insulation in the spring — before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to install it correctly. Decide between a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and insulate those nooks and crannies properly. Help keep your heating and cooling bills under control with new insulation that maintains your home's temperature.

Tame the Lawn and Greenery Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw, and the sidewalks and driveway with a pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be ready for new spring flowers before you know it.

Rental Trucks
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep cargo vans as well as box trucks ready to roll — with availability varying by store. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet at certain stores. You're sure to find the correct size truck rental for your DIY project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your source for packing, DIY projects, and storage needs, it's smart to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with the right pro power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the boom and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out popular large equipment, truck, and tool rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent a truck, tool, or piece of large equipment?

Stop by your local Rental Center to see which trucks or tools you can rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You might also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is carried at your store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.

Can I rent large equipment or tools by the hour?

Large equipment rentals and tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You can return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a week?

Rent a cargo van, box truck, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the terms and conditions before selecting a vehicle.

Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Do I just need a driver's license to rent large equipment or a truck?

No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to go get my rented large equipment from the store?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

How do I avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?

Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get hit with a late fee.
