The Home Depot Rental Center at N Oceanside

When you're starting to dive into a home improvement project, you might not have every tool you need in your garage. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in N Oceanside.

Tool Rental
Our tool and equipment rental options expand your toolbelt and toolbox with the exact tools you need to complete a DIY job. It's not necessary to purchase a specific tool when you're not using it at least once a week. When you're in the market for a new tool, give it a spin before you select which one to get. Whatever your situation, we have the power tools you're looking for.

Make Painting Easier with Paint Sprayers and Rental Scaffolding
Gorgeous springtime days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Make surfaces look new again with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need ladder rentals for painting fences, or scaffolding rentals for painting a house, or a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, we have what you need.

Rent Shop Vacuums, Post Hole Diggers, and Floor Sanders
Tackle major jobs with robust power tools. Take your scuffed hardwood to the next level with a floor sander rental and a wet/dry vacuum rental to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Construct a new fence around your pool or property faster with a post hole digger rental, then use other concrete tools that suit the job at hand.

Rental Trucks
For your transport needs, we keep cargo vans and trucks rental-ready — with availability varying by store. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths at certain stores. Choose the right size truck rental for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. As your trusted source for packing, DIY, and storage, it's smart to make us your go-to source for transport and moving as well.

Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job. From the boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers and mini excavators for hauling materials, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're calling out specific truck, tool, and large equipment rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular piece of equipment in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent large equipment, trucks, or tools?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what tools and trucks are up for rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You can also read our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your favorite store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, read the Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.

How long can I rent tools or large equipment?

Large equipment rentals and tool rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small DIY jobs may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and major projects aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.

When do I return the tools?

You can return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any mud or dirt from the tool as well. If you need it longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.

How long can I rent a truck?

Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes could be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before selecting a vehicle.

Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Make a note of the original fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to go get my rented large equipment from the store?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered and picked up from your job site for a reasonable cost — at your home or out in the field. We'll need at least 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented equipment and you'll need to rent it for a full day. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?

Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get charged a late fee.
