When you're starting to leap into a home improvement job, you might not have all the required tools in your garage or workshop. That's when you should stop by The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in North Upland.
Tool Rental
Our tool rental options enlarge your toolbelt and toolbox with the precise tools you need to complete your DIY project. It's not necessary to invest in a specific tool when you're only using it once in a while. When you're considering a new tool, do a trial run first before you select which one to purchase. Whatever your situation, we have just what you're looking for.
Rent Post Hole Diggers, Floor Sanders, and Shop Vacuums
Tackle serious jobs with serious power tool rentals. Get your garden bed ready for spring with a tiller rental or ensure fresh sod lays just right with a sod cutter rental. Construct a new fence around your pool or property faster with a post hole digger rental, then use other concrete tools that suit your job.
Make Painting Easier with Ladder and Paint Sprayer Rentals
Beautiful springtime days are a great time to tackle outdoor painting projects. Make surfaces look new again with a fresh coat of paint. Whether you need a paint sprayer rental for professional coverage, scaffolding rentals for painting a shed or house, or rental ladders for painting fences, we have what you need.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
To move large tool rentals or anything else, we keep trucks of all kinds ready to roll. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from pickup trucks to cargo vans to flatbeds. Choose the correct size for your DIY project so you can keep your job on track. As your trusted source for DIY jobs of all sizes, it's simple to make us your go-to source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to move to a new home, let us help with that, too. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks in sizes ranging from 12-feet to 26-feet, but as always, availability varies from store to store. Penske moving trucks have different sizes and rental requirements than our box trucks, so check the FAQ or speak to an associate to make sure you find the right rental truck for you.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with the right professional power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job. From the boom lifts and scissor lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers capable of hauling materials on outdoor job sites, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning popular tool, large equipment, and truck rentals, not everything is available at every rental center. If you've got a particular piece of equipment in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent large equipment, tools, or trucks?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a truck, tool, or large equipment. You can also visit our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is offered at your store. For more info on renting large equipment or tools, read our Tool Rental FAQs, including terms and conditions for the equipment.
How long can I rent tools or large equipment?
Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the month, week, or day, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I bring the tools back?
You're welcome to return the tools early if you complete your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need them longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I choose how long to rent a truck?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before you decide on a vehicle.
Should I refill the rental truck before I bring it back?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
Do I need to go get my rented large equipment from the store?
Depending on your location, you can get large equipment dropped off at your job site for an affordable rate — out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. Speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.
What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?
Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get dinged with a late fee.
