How long can I rent tools?
Tool rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a short rental period, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent tools by the week, month, or day, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.
When can I bring the tools back?
You can return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. As long as you return it by the deadline you were given when you rented it, you'll be good to go. Please clean off any built-up dirt from the tool as well. If you need the tools longer, give the rental center a call to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be enough time. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the store and the job site, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract before selecting a truck.
Should I refill the rental truck with gas before I bring it back?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you return it. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you received the rental. When you don't refill the vehicle, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
