This store always has what I need. There are plenty of friendly employees.

Understanding the context of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, I walked into the store with ample amount of empathy. An associate at one point waved over to me and my sister (who were getting stock for my dad, who is an electrician, before the COVID-19 shut down tomorrow) and said "I don't understand why people (gesturing to us) are here buying random things." I let that slide, again, this pandemic makes us all say things that are out of fear. What happened is this: I was to buy 12 (twelve) specific overhead lights. We found them easily, and as I was counting out the ones I needed, an associate sees I am grabbing the lights, and as I am doing so, cuts in front of where my sister and I were standing and took the remainder of the stock. This happened as my hand was on the box that had the remainder of the stock. I would have appreciated an "excuse me," or an explanation to why he took the lights that were in my hand. I brushed it off, as maybe it was for an online order. I asked that same employee if there were any of those specific lights left and he said no. He offered a replacement, and put them in my hand, but they were not the ones I needed. I accepted this fact and took what I had grabbed and went on my way to checkout. In the self-checkout, I am scanning my items and the same associate (his name was Dave) without addressing me, takes two more lights from my cart. I ask him to put it back, he says "No, but take these as replacements." I say, politely, "These are not the ones I need. I need these (the original ones I intended on buying) specific lights." He replied "Take these, they are the same thing." I assured him they are not the same thing. They are similar, but not the ones my dad needed for the job. Dave did not take no for an answer and put the ones he had as a replacement in our cart and walked away. We scan the replacements and see that they are $10 more expensive. My sister goes to find Dave, to see what we can do about the price difference, and he is assisting a couple. She patiently waits beside Dave to ask about the price discrepancy. Dave then sees her, and stands directly in front of her to block her from their conversation. She is finally able to speak with Dave, who says "we'll honor the lower price," and starts to walk away again. She stops him and asks "How? I would appreciate if you helped us." He tells her to call a number and say "Dave said to honor the price." The associate at the self checkout (very kind, but in the chaos of all this I didn't catch her name) did honor the price. The manner in which Dave treated my sister and I, as if we couldn't tell the difference between the two lights (we can, and we could then), and taking items from our cart AS we are purchasing them was very inappropriate and unprofessional. To do it not once, but twice, was unacceptable. I would've understood if when we were originally in the bay/aisle he let us know what was going on or why he had to take the entire stock off the shelf as I am grabbing them, but his manner of dismissiveness made the trip overall very poor. I hope this was an isolated incident, or that we caught Dave on an off day, because that behavior made me and my sister feel very uncomfortable and off-put.

Over the past seven years we've owned our home and needed to make visits to local hardware stores - the Reading Home Depot has become our favorite. The store is clean, well stocked and the store clerks are always helpful whenever we've had a question. This is not true for other hardware stores in the region - at least not in our experience. We highly recommend the Reading MA Home Depot.

Person at "customer service" desk was the rudest.

It is really nice to walk into Home Depot in Reading and have the employees recognize us. Remembering that we are retired and working on home projects, they ask what they can do to help us today!

Although the Home Depot website indicated that this store had 12 items of a specific model of humidifier I wanted in stock, I couldn't find it there. After I asked three store employees for help, the fourth person (David or Dave at the Electrical Department) finally kicked in and solved our issue immediately. His answers were: (i) the item was sold out, (ii) the website was not updated, and (iii) he can sell the item in display with discount. I liked his kind and professional attitude very much!

"Greeter" was very helpful and knew exactly where to locate the item I was looking for.

As usual I enjoyed my recent visit. What I wanted was easily acceptable. I needed help in locating one product and the young man was very helpful. I also like browsing to see what else is new.

Just got back from THD and the man in the paint section was very helpful and explained about priming the wall before painting and then went on to recommend a paint to use. He was exceptional and it is much appreciated.

Store parking was plentiful. The store was nicely decorated for the Christmas holiday. The Paint department very well stocked, and the employees on duty at 4pm on a sunday pm were very pleasant and helpful.

Your store is clean especially the ladies room. I love your employees except this woman name Susanne 2614 00007 76260 cashier 09/27/19 @ 09:55 am. I’m a contractor and I shop all my tools in this store because the tool guy Milwaukee guy name Joe is really nice, respectful and he does a good job on explaining the tools he sells. Very sad because of this cashier who’s very RUDE.

This Home Depot is the perfect example of how every center for DIY should be. The staff was friendly. The moment I walked in the door, I was being helped. I came on a mission to find specific items. They were exactly where the website said they were. Items and store were clean (nothing unboxed, or opened). Took me five minutes to checkout. Associate there was super helpful and kind. This store is in complete contrast to another I had visited. I would recommend coming here anytime. This is my new go to store.

Watch out for home delivery people. I bought a John Deere rear bagger in pristine condition at the store and set up delivery. By the time it reached my house both ends of the box had been opened and it looked like the box itself had been tossed around. There was also a vital part (hopper screen) missing which is not a small part. A store associated shared with me that the delivery people are a chronic problem but Home Depot won't change them.

Great store, like I said before, my go to store for many years and the reasons are many, always a pleasure, thank you and all your employees, always understanding and helpful.

The door and window associate leaves early. If the store is open until 10, why is this one department always closed early. I ended up needing to go to a competitor. My work schedule doesn’t allow me to get to the store before 8.

Great experience using their order on-line and pick-up or home deliver service. Tried other stores said they had inventory on-line for store pick-up same day - only to notify me after I purchased would be delivered several days later. This transaction with Home Depot was easy on-line inventory accurate.
