Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This has helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
We have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores since 2010.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers. This commitment extends beyond our stores to the environment, as well as our communities. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

What's your selection of moving boxes like?
Pick up an assortment of moving boxes to make storage or moving easier. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion your items with moving blankets and bubble cushion to ensure your belongings make it there safely. Remember to check out our moving truck rentals if you need those, too.
Is it good to have a generator at home?
We've got the variety you need when searching for a generator for sale. Inverter generators are cleaner and quieter than traditional portable generators. They adjust to whatever power load is requested. This means they'll make less noise in times of lesser demand. When browsing generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators are more affordable and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. Always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows, for safety purposes.
What home repairs should I make sooner rather than later?
Ready your home for spring temperatures swings and storms by replacing any faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be looking at trouble. On the outside of your home, examine shingles or metal roofs for damage or rust that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams if you're still prone to ice storms and snow. Check brickwork and cinder block for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be changed out if damaged.
Does The Home Depot sell doorbell cameras?
Enjoy peace of mind, privacy, and safety with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through a peephole or window when you can see visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off wannabe porch pirates. Many cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you easy accessibility. Save video clips for future reference as needed and worry less with more control.
