You can rent a tool or large equipment for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a rental for a few hours, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the day, month, or week, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off mud and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract and terms and conditions before choosing a vehicle.

Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the fuel level when you receive the truck, and fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for a reasonable cost — whether that's at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can adequately prepare your rented large equipment. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.

Think of your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get dinged with a late fee.
