Take on any new DIY project with the right tools for the job — even if you don't currently own them. Rent power tools, use them, and bring them back when you're done. Finish your project without cluttering up valuable shed or workshop storage with tools you rarely reach for.
Tool Rental
Using The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Stadium helps you handle more complex DIY projects. No more old hand-me-down tools that limit what you can do. Rent the tools to finish your project confidently and safely. If your local store doesn't have a tool you need in stock, you could find it at another store within driving distance.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, add another layer to your insulation in the spring — before it gets dangerously hot in your attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to install it correctly. Choose from a fiberglass blower or a cellulose insulation blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated properly. Help keep your heating and cooling bills under control with new insulation that maintains your home's temperature.
Tame the Bushes and Lawn Early
Greet the spring with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten the yard with a rental lawn mower and leaf blower, the trees and hedges with a chainsaw, and the driveway and sidewalks with a rental pressure washer. Your outdoor oasis will be refreshed and ready for new spring flowers in no time.
Truck and Cargo Van Rentals
For your transport needs, we keep trucks of all kinds rental ready. Although availability varies by store, we've got a selection ranging from cargo vans to flatbeds to pickup trucks. You're sure to find the right size for your project so you can keep your job on track. As your trusted source for storage, packing, and DIY, it's simple to make us your source for truck rental as well.
Box Truck and Penske Moving Truck Rentals
If it's time to relocate to a new home, we can help with that, too. Explore our rental box trucks. We also offer Penske moving trucks ranging from 12-foot to 26-foot lengths, but as always, availability varies from store to store. Our Penske moving trucks have different sizes and rental requirements than our box trucks, so check out the FAQ or speak to an Orange Apron to ensure you choose the right rental truck for you.
Large Equipment Rentals
Complete expansive projects with the right professional equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini excavators and skid steers for hauling materials, we've got an expansive variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.
Although we're mentioning specific truck, large equipment, and tool rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular tool in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent trucks, tools, or large equipment?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what tools or trucks you can rent. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You can also visit our truck rental or tool and equipment rental pages to see if what you need is in stock at your store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, read these Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
Can I rent tools or large equipment by the hour?
You can rent a tool or large equipment for four hours or more. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small home improvement jobs may only require a short rental period, and long-term projects aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent tools by the day, week, or month, too. If you need it longer than your initial rental period, call your Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
It's fine to return the tools early if you complete your project faster than planned, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need it longer, call your local rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
Can I rent a truck for a few hours?
Rent a truck or cargo van for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you'll need to return it to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the terms and conditions before selecting a truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you return it. Match the amount of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. If you don't, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you also need to be 21 or older, in addition to holding a valid driver's license. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.
Do I need to pick up my large equipment rental from the store?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the ideal way to get your large equipment.
How do I avoid extra fees and penalties on rented large equipment?
Treat your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get hit with a late fee.
