Tool Rental
Kick off your home improvement job with confidence and the best tools. Let The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Tomball expand your toolbelt with the tools you don't have at home. Rent the tools you need and return them when the job is done. If you need to add those tools to your toolbox permanently, inquire about buying our retired rental tools. Compared to the new items on our store shelves, they're discounted.
Add Insulation When the Weather is Cooler
For a more energy-efficient home, add another layer to your insulation in the spring, if possible — before it gets dangerously hot in the attic. Rent equipment made for insulation to install it correctly. Choose from a cellulose insulation blower or a fiberglass blower, and get those nooks and crannies insulated properly. It'll keep the house cooler this spring and summer, then continue working year-round. You'll enjoy warmer temps in the winter, too, which can lessen electricity usage.
Tame the Lawn and Bushes Early
Lighten the load with outdoor power equipment rentals and whip the yard into shape again. Neaten around the garden and shrubs with hedge trimmers and rental lawn mowers, and get that sidewalk clean again with a pressure washer rental. Your outdoor oasis will be looking fresh and ready for new spring flowers in no time.
Rental Trucks
If it's time to start your next project but you need to rent a truck to do it, come to The Home Depot Truck Rental Center. From flatbed and pickup trucks to box trucks and Penske moving trucks, we've got the transportation you need. You're sure to find the right size for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. Rent a truck to check off more DIY jobs from your list. Check with your local rental center for availability, as it changes.
Large Equipment Rentals
Handle massive projects with professional power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need to finish the job. From the scissor and boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers and mini excavators for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore and see what we've got in stock.
Although we're calling out popular truck, tool, and large equipment rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular item in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.
How do I rent large equipment, trucks, or tools?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see which tools or trucks you can rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You could also read our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is in stock at your local store. For more info on renting tools or large equipment, read our Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.
How long can I rent tools or large equipment?
Tool rentals and large equipment rentals start at four hour time slots. It depends on how long you'd like to rent them. Small DIY projects may only require a rental that's a few hours long, and we can accommodate large projects as well. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the month, day, or week, too. If you need it longer than anticipated, call the Rental Center for an extension and avoid late fees.
When do I return the tools?
It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project ahead of schedule, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off residual dust, mud, and grime from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.
How long can I rent a truck?
Rent a cargo van, box truck, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes might be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Don't forget to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Make sure to read the provided documentation before selecting a vehicle.
Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?
Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Note the amount of gas in the tank when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that same level. When you don't refill the rental vehicle, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent large equipment or a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be 21 or older. Depending on your state, you may require car insurance, as well as a deposit or credit card hold, too. We don't accept cash for Home Depot truck rentals, so please bring your credit card. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Large equipment or select tools also require ID verification via CLEAR.
How do I receive my large equipment rental?
Depending on your location, you may be able to get large equipment dropped off and picked up from your job site for an affordable rate — whether that's at your home or out in the field. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you. Speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.
What are some ways to avoid penalties and extra fees on rented large equipment?
Think of your large equipment rentals as any other vehicle: Make sure you obey traffic laws and it's parked legally. Read the instructions so you're using it correctly to avoid injuring yourself or damaging the equipment. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are, as cancelling within 12 hours of delivery means you'll incur a cancellation fee. Extend your rental period if you need extra time so you won't get dinged with a late fee.
