Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting rechargeable batteries, plastic plant pots, CFLs, and lead acid batteries for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
Since 2010, we have decreased electricity consumption by over 52% in our U.S. stores.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our customers and associates. This commitment extends beyond our stores to our communities, as well as the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Learn more about our eco actions.

What's on sale for the Spring Deals event?
Enjoy some of the top bargains of the season with our Spring Deals. New tools help take care of that to-do list as the weather brings sunny cheer. It's also a good time for lawn and garden work outdoors, setting up new appliances, and cleaning indoors. Remember to upgrade your outdoor power equipment as well. Get it all done when you save during our Spring Deals sale, which runs only from April 24th through May 7th. Don't miss out on these savings.
Do you offer moving boxes?
Make moving or storage easier by picking up an assortment of moving boxes. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion your items with moving blankets and bubble cushion to ensure your belongings make it to your next location safely. Don't forget to check out our rental moving trucks if you need those, too.
Why should I get a generator?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for any circumstances life throws at you. Whether you're dealing with strong winds, blizzards, or severe thunderstorms, a portable generator lets you enjoy power after the elements take it out. When searching generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're heavier and louder. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows.
Should I make siding repairs now?
Make sure your home is ready for spring temperature swings by replacing or repairing faulty parts of your home and hardscaping. If water freezes in the crevices, you could be looking at trouble. On the outside of your home, examine metal roof panels or roof shingles for rust or damage that could let water leak into your home. Gutters should be cleaned to prevent ice dams if you're prone to frozen precip as the seasons change. Check brick and cinder blocks for cracks. Indoors, ensure ceiling tiles are free from missing pieces and water damage. Lastly, chimney caps and vinyl siding should be swapped out if they're damaged.
Does The Home Depot sell doorbell cameras?
Enjoy privacy, peace of mind, and safety with a wireless or wired doorbell camera. No more peeking through the peephole or a nearby window when you can watch human or animal visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you chat remotely via your phone, which is useful to scare off potential porch pirates or talk to delivery people. Many cameras integrate with your smart home app or hub to give you easy accessibility. Save video clips for future reference as needed and worry less with more control.
