The Home Depot Rental Center at Waukesha

When you're beginning to leap into a home improvement job, you might not have the specialty tools you need in your workshop or shed. Don't let that stop you when you can stop by The Home Depot Tool Rental Center in Waukesha.

Tool Rental
Our tool rental options enlarge your toolbelt and toolbox with the precise tools you require to complete the job. It's impractical to keep a specialty tool when you're not using it often. When you're looking for a new tool, do a trial run first before you decide which one to get. Whatever your situation, we have the power tools you're looking for.

Rent Post Hole Diggers, Shop Vacuums, and Floor Sanders
Tackle major projects with reliable power tool rentals. Take your scuffed hardwood floor to the next level with a floor sander rental and a wet/dry vacuum rental to get the floors smooth and ready for refinishing. Construct a new fence around your property faster with a post hole digger rental, then utilize other concrete tools that suit your job.

Make Painting Easier with Paint Sprayers and Rental Scaffolding
Take advantage of longer spring days and paint outdoors. Rent paint sprayers to get professional coverage and work much faster than you would with a brush or roller and a paint tray. Ladder rentals help you reach elevated places when painting fences, houses, and sheds. We carry extension ladders and step ladders for medium or smaller jobs, so you won't have to wait when you're ready to work.

Truck Rental
If it's time to start your DIY project but you need a truck to do it, stop by The Home Depot Truck Rental Center. From cargo vans and flatbed trucks to box trucks and Penske moving trucks, we've got the transportation you need. You're sure to find the right size for your project so you can keep your timeline running smoothly. Rent a truck to check off more DIY jobs from your list. Check with your local rental center for availability, as it changes.

Large Equipment Rentals
Complete expansive projects with the right pro power equipment. Our large equipment rentals give you the power you need. From the boom lifts to give you a boost to the mini skid steers and excavators for hauling materials, we've got a surprising variety of equipment available. If a large equipment rental could help you, explore our selection to see what we've got in stock.

Although we're mentioning popular truck, tool, and large equipment rentals, our rental center may not have everything on hand for your required time frame. If you've got a particular piece of equipment in mind, please contact your local rental center to see where you can pick it up.

Frequently Asked Questions about Rentals

How do I rent a piece of large equipment, a tool, or a truck?

Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what tools or trucks you can rent. If you want to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about a tool, truck, or large equipment. You may also check out our tool and equipment rental or truck rental pages to see if what you need is carried at your favorite store. For more details on renting tools or large equipment, read our Tool Rental FAQs, which includes equipment terms and conditions.

Can I rent a tool or large equipment for an hour?

You can rent a tool or large equipment for four hours or more. Simply choose the length of time that suits you. Small home improvement jobs may only require a rental for a few hours, and long-term jobs aren't a problem either. You've got options to rent large equipment and tools by the week, day, or month, too. If you need it longer than what you signed up for, call your Rental Center to arrange an extension and avoid late fees.

When can I bring the tools back?

It's fine to return the tools early if you finish your project sooner than predicted, but on-time works, too. Just make sure to bring them back by the deadline listed on your rental paperwork. Please clean off any grime and dust from the tool as well. If you need them longer, call the rental center to see if you can extend your rental period.

Can I rent a truck for a week?

Rent a box truck, cargo van, or flatbed truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on the length of your project. Be sure to factor in the drive between the job site and the store, as you'll need to bring it back to the same store where you rented it. Penske moving truck rentals allow one-way rentals as well as round-trip options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the contract before selecting a truck.

Do I need to refuel the rental truck when I'm done?

Yes, please fill up the truck before you bring it back. Match the level of gas that was in the tank when you got the rental. When you don't refill the rental truck, you'll have to pay a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.

Can I rent a truck or large equipment with only a driver's license?

No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements. Select tools as well as large equipment also require ID verification via CLEAR.

Do I need to go get my rented large equipment from the store?

Depending on your location, you can get large equipment delivered straight to your job site for an affordable rate — out in the field or at your own home. You'll need to rent it for one day or longer and provide us with 24 hours notice so we can prepare your rental delivery for you. In places where delivery isn't available, speak to an associate for the best way to get your large equipment.

What are some ways to avoid extra fees and penalties on my large equipment rentals?

Treat your rented large equipment as any other vehicle: Make sure it's parked legally and you obey traffic laws. Read the operator's manual so you're using it correctly to avoid damaging the equipment or injuring yourself. Also, plan ahead to ensure the equipment is ready when you are. If you cancel within 12 hours of your scheduled delivery, you'll pay a cancellation fee. Make sure to return equipment by the deadline or extend the rental period to accommodate the extra hours or days you require.
