Our store diverts waste from landfills by accepting CFLs, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, and plastic plant pots for recycling.
Home Depot stores sent approximately 5.3 million pounds of shredded paper for recycling in 2022. This helped the planet by preserving over 63,500 trees, keeping over 16,000 trash bags of solid waste out of landfills, saving over 50 million gallons of water, and conserving 7.8 million kilowatt hours of electricity.
LED lights in your local store cut down energy consumption by 98 million kilowatt hours. Many stores also participate in renewable energy initiatives such as wind and solar.
The Home Depot's core values are based on doing the right thing for our associates and customers, and this commitment extends beyond our stores to our local communities and the environment. We are your partners in environmental sustainability. Read more about our commitment to economic responsibility.

Do you carry large moving boxes?
Pick up an assortment of moving boxes to make storage or moving easier. We've got the sizes you need, including specialty ones like wardrobe and TV boxes. Cushion your items with bubble cushion and moving blankets to ensure your belongings make it to your next location safely. Don't forget to check out our rental moving trucks if you need those, too.
Is it good to have a generator at home?
Having a generator means you're prepared year-round for any circumstances Mother Nature throws at you. Whether you're dealing with strong winds, blizzards, or severe thunderstorms, a portable generator lets you enjoy power when the elements take it out. When searching generators for sale, don't forget that portable generators cost less and generate more electricity than inverter generators, but they're louder and heavier. For safety purposes, always run your generators outside, away from doors and windows.
Should I do siding repairs now?
Ready your home for spring temperature swings by repairing or replacing broken parts of your hardscaping and home. If water freezes in any crevices, you could be headed for trouble. Check brickwork and cinder blocks for cracks, and verify indoor ceiling tiles are free from water damage and missing pieces. On the outside of your home, examine metal roofs or roof shingles for rust or damage that could let water in. Clean gutters to prevent ice dams if you're still prone to ice storms and snow. Lastly, swap out vinyl siding and chimney caps if in poor condition.
Do you have doorbell cameras?
Enjoy peace of mind, safety, and privacy with a wired or wireless doorbell camera. No more peeking through a nearby window or peephole when you can watch animal or human visitors in real time. Some doorbell cams even let you talk to whoever is on your doorstep via your phone, which is useful for delivery people or to scare off wannabe porch pirates. Most cameras integrate with your smart home hub or app to give you easy accessibility. Save video clips for future reference and worry less with more control.
