About This Product
Maximize the quality of finish straight from the planer. Using the G1021X2 3 HP Planer will save time and effort by quickly flattening and smoothing rough lumber. The G1021X2 features a 15 in., 4-row helical cutterhead complete with 52 indexable inserts that can each be rotated 3 times to expose new, sharp cutting edges. The indexable carbide inserts are positioned along a helical pattern with the cutting edges at a slight angle to the workpiece. This angle allows for smooth shearing cuts, minimized tearout, a smoother finish, and operating at lower noise levels. The G1021X2 features a powerful 230-volt, 3 horsepower motor to power through cuts up to 3/32 in. deep at full width or 1/8 in. deep on material up to 6 in. wide. Plane material from 3/16 in. to 6 in. thick with ease and choose between either 16 or 28 ft. per minute feed rates for the perfect finish. The precision-ground cast-iron table travels smoothly up and down on the heavy-duty 4-column supports and can be firmly locked in place for operation. The G1021X2 offers additional features such as extra-large ball bearing return rollers, a large side-mounted handwheel, cabinet-style stand, pedestal-mounted control panel, magnetic switch with thermal overload protection and powder coated paint for years of protection. Like all Grizzly planers, the G1021X2 comes with a 1-year warranty which covers parts and assures the unit is free from factory defects.

What is difference between this and the g0454Z?

Is there any advantage between the spiral vs helical cutter head

I purchased this planer and it is so quiet while running! But the initial start up is kinda loud, almost startling. Is that normal?

Thank you for reaching out. The 20A circuit rating is designed to handle the initial inrush of current. In many cases, a 15A circuit would suffice; however, since most electrical panels don't have a 15A breaker available, a 20A breaker is used instead.
will it fit though a 32 “ door?
Thank you for reaching out with your question. This 15" Planer measures 37" W x 48" D x 44" H fully assembled. The machine crate is 29" W x 36" D x 52" H as some assembly is required. This should allow enough space to make it through your door.
