        ByOct 16, 2026
        1 Answer |
        Answer This Question

Yes this can be used on driveways, it just cannot be the final wear surface. You would need to put a top coat over it. Something like newcrete.

How long should product be mixed before applying? Top of bucket flows great, middle to bottom doesn’t. Used mechanical mixer attached to a 1/2” drill. No lumps, just thicker slurry that doesn’t flow.

            Answer This Question

I would add all the water add half the bag and mix thoroughly. Then add the rest of the bag.

How much primer is needed per bag of rapid set self leveling
                BySep 27, 2026
                1 Answer |
                Answer This Question

The primer is applied to the concrete not added to the bag. The amount you need would depend the size of the job and condition of the substrate. The bottle has great instructions.

Tried this for the first time and it worked very well compared to other products I tried before and they didn't have the same fluidity than this one. I will definitely will add it to all the project where I will be needing self leveling to install vinyl floor on top.

                  Worst self-leveler I've ever used
Wish I would have read the reviews before shelling out $1500 on this trash. Followed instructions precisely. Does not self-level. On second go round added a little extra water. Still did not self-level.

                    Don’t work well at all
It didn’t self level even when mixed to very liquid proportion. What’s worse is that this mix had some impurities causing bubbles and clumps.

We are in the process of repairing a couple of 50 year old brick stairs that have settled and cracked. For this purpose we purchased various bags of Rapid Set 50 pound Concrete Leveler for the top landing of the stairs. The concrete was easy to mix, easy to apply and the photos speak for themselves. We highly recommend the Rapid Set 50 pound Concrete Leveler as it does the job "just as advertised."

                      Ruined floor
Cured almost instantly upon pouring out after following exact mixing instructions. Became a clumpy gel like substance that would not level at all.

                        Leave it to professionals
This product does not self level; its thickness requires that you do all the work. I mixed the product and spread it exactly as the instructions specified to no avail. With that said, once dried this product is rock hard, bonds extremely well to substrates and provides an excellent surface to tile on.

                          Filled With Pebbles
During my three-year renovation, I used four different brands of leveling compound. This was the only one I had any significant issues with. It claims you can do a feather edge, however, the mix was filled with 1/4" to 3/8" pebbles. It's pretty hard to "feather edge" something that has 1/4" rocks in it and I had to use pour deeper than planned/desired as a result. See attached photos.

This worked well to top coat garage floor. Had very old concrete. Filled in great. Just follow the direction on how much water. I went on the max amount of water for the garage floor so I could float it quickly. It sets up pretty fast. Used a concrete mixer.

                            Easy to use for DIYer
56 square foot bathroom on cement slab was a little uneven. I had areas that were 1/4” lower and some that were only 1/8” but it would have been difficult to place shower pan and LVP flooring. Never done this type of job before but I prepped the surface with the recommended primer and mixed the contents of the leveler as directed. Two bags and the slope is gone. Good product, dried quickly.

Lots of Money but Worth it!!
Did my entire basement/garage floor so that I could put down waterproof laminate in the laundy Rm and Man Cave. The other 2/3rds of the garage Im epoxy coating with Armorepoxy. Clean concrete, prime concrete, mix a bag up with 5 quarts of water, dump all contents in one spot and then use a spiked roller to push it in to lower areas. Worked beautifully. This was my first time ever using concrete leveler.
