Questions & Answers

Will this work for a hot water connection too?

Answer This Question

This is a new install. Should I add a shut off valve between the water supply and the Aquor? It doesn't seem to be necessary since it automatically shuts off when removing the hose connection.

Answer This Question

It is not needed as long as the end of the unit is in heated space. However, I install ball valves at the beginning of each branch in case I need to repair/replace anything on that branch. This allows me to keep the water on to the rest of the house.

I have 2 questions regarding this system. 1. when I drill from outside, do I need to angle the hole upward, or will the cover do that for me. or do i need to drill vertically. 2. what other connection will i need to use if i have PEX b

    Answer This Question

According to the installation guide, which is under the details section, an upward angle is not needed as the faceplate provides the correct angle. Just make sure that you have enough room on the heated side to make the connection. Use a 1/2 threaded

Can this be used in-ground (in a vertical position and burry with/without a box?

      Answer This Question

There is another model for in-ground options. If you used this model, it wouldn't self drain and you would need to blow out the lines in the winter.

It's a good system the valve shut off when the plastic connecter is removed. I only shut off my water to the valve for winter.

When you unplug the connector, the system will seal from the back of the hydrant and the remaining water in the stem will drain out of the front. The amount of water will vary based on the length of hydrant you choose.

              Look very neat
My old Bibb broke and I was looking for the replacement, came across Aquor product and even though it was $84 from Home Depot decided to purchase it. Delivery was fairly fast . Installation was easy, just expanded the original hole and bought a cpvc adaptor Looks very sturdy with 3 screws Had to teach my wife how to use it so far no complaint

                Great outdoor faucet
I have never tried to install an outdoor faucet because I didn’t feel the construction was good enough to prevent a freeze during winter. My wife showed me the Aquor House Hydrant and I asked her to order it. I have installed it I am happy with everything about it.

                  Fantastic product!
Aquor Hydrants ahould be standard installations for hose bibs! I love the look and functionality, and it’s made of high-quality materials. Installation was fast and easy. I used Sharkbite fittings and pex tubing, all of which are available at Home Depot.

                    Different
This style of hose connection is definitely different than why I am used to, however it is a sleek looking and seemingly well built product. Some things to keep in mind- there is no “on/off” once you attach the hose connecter to the hydrant the water flows- so you will need a separate hose nozzle or other device if you don’t want water free flowing once you hook up the hose.

                    A solid hose bib connection!
Made from marine-grade stainless steel this looks and feels very solid. It requires some soldering of the fittings to attach the stem to the existing supply line. Once installed there is no hose bib valve, the end that attaches to the hose is inserted into the stem with a twist-lock system. Any flow control would have to be added to the hose. To remove and stop the water flow just twist the fitting and pull it out. Pay attention to the installation manual and the slight downward slope needed. It's a good option when replacing a faulty hose bib.

                    Hose Connector
This review is for the AQUOR 1/2 in. NPT inlet and 3/4 in. Hose Connector 2 in. House Hydrant V1+ The main connector is maid of stainless steel, so it is rust free and also stronger than brass or aluminum. In this design there is no valve to regulate the amount of water flow, you use a garden hose valve or screw on spray nozzle at the other end. The supplied connector has a shaped helical groove that pulls it into the hydrant as you turn it. As it is pulled inwards, it opens the internal valve and water is released, so you attach the hose (or a valve) before inserting the connector.

                    great addition to my garage/shop
I frequently use water outside of the garage & was tired of dragging 100+ft of hoses all over the yard; its nice being able to unhook a shorter hose so quick, easy, and not worry about the sillcock freezing any longer. This flush-mount 2” bibb is much more pleasing to us than traditional sillcocks & perfect size for this location. However, the wedge, which ensures proper angling for correct hydrant drainage prevents it from being flush with the wall (see picture with quick coupling). It sticks out approximately ½-3/4 inch. Pluses: it shuts off inside the wall; hydrant automatically drains when disconnection of the quick coupling occurs. Hence preventing freezing/breaking during the colder winter temperatures we experience. Install was pretty straight forward, instructions are pretty good, be sure to make sure your plumb if you desire the cap be vertically straight (we didn’t and ocd required we fix that). It’s not hard; you just really need to follow the directions. The product details aren’t kidding when they say connect hose in 1 second, effortlessly. Also, instant water without having to turn it on. No leaks or drips after ~~20 hook on/offs and 2months! Very pleased with looks & performance. We liked so much we installed an 8” at the house. Highly Recommend.

A nice sillcock that works well and looks nice but may require intermediate DIY skills.
NOTE: The difference between a sillcock and a hose bib is that in a sillcock the water valve is located at the interior end of the fitting and a in a hose bib the valve is on the hose end of the fitting. Sillcocks are, by design, more freeze resistant. BACKGROUND: I am upgrading our hose bibs to freeze resistant sillcocks. I have installed several manufacturers and styles so far, but when I saw the AQUOR style quick connect I knew I wanted to try it out. This “House Hydrant” is unique because it uses a push and twist quick connect insert to provide water to your water hose or other connected water equipment. When the connector is removed a flip down cover hides the connection point. When you need water to push twist the connector body (with hose or valve attached) into the connection point and water is immediately available. The AQUOR comes with a single straight in connector but other connectors, and other cover plates, are available. FIT AND FINISH: This is our first AQUOR product, but it is at least comparable to other freeze resistant sillcocks in construction. FEATURES: From the Home Depot page, with my comments as appropriate. • The House Hydrant V1+ is a modern, flush-mount hose bibb. • The Frostproof hydrant features a quick coupling that allows effortless garden hose connections (see photos.) • A stainless-steel operating rod and high-performance O-ring provide zero-maintenance reliability. o I try to use stainless steel in my outdoor areas where possible. The stainless operating rod gives one less concern about a corroded valve. • Enjoy years of drip-free, leak-free use. o Time will tell but replacing o-rings looks like a simple process. • The included polymer debris cover can be upgraded to match your home's style. o Home Depot does not carry the accessories as of this writing, but they are available from the manufacturer’s web site. • Each hydrant kit includes a heavy-duty polymer CN-VB2 hose connector. o CN-VB2 is the fitting part number for the “Wide Grip Hose Connector” (see photos.) The connector is made of Acetal Resin Polymer which is is an engineering thermoplastic used in precision parts requiring high stiffness, low friction, and excellent dimensional stability. It is used widely in the automotive industry and for some firearm parts. • Attach to any garden hose, and instantly connect to your hydrant without leaks or hassles. • Connect garden hoses in 1 second o It is very easy to connect. The connector engages with the valve housing and as you twist it “screws” into the body. • Marine-grade stainless steel for extreme longevity • Ultra-reliable, pressure-closed valve prevents leaks or drips o When you twist the connector in the interior end of the fitting pushes the valve rod which opens for water flow. • ASSE and CSA certified • Effortless garden hose connections, even under full pressure o Because of the threaded connection the only force you must use is to twist the connector into the bode. MUCH easier to use than my quick-connect water hose fittings. • Compatible with a variety of hose connectors o I have this sillcock for one of our hose reels and an automatic waterer. No problems hooking any ¾ in. garden hose fittings. • Use with any standard garden hose or accessories o The supplied connecter is ¾ in. Garden Hose Thread (GHT.) • 100% stainless steel hydrant body and internals o I love my stainless. • Better freeze protection than traditional brass • Hydrant automatically drains when disconnected o The instructions state you must slope the valve body with the inside higher than the outside. The • 100% lead-free, non-toxic construction • Repair parts readily available • Use any ½ in. MIP or NPT fitting o I used a ½ in. to PEX SharkBite adapter. The ½ in. end attached to the fitting with no problems. INSTALLATION: My installation was not a beginners level DIY job (see photos and video.) • My existing water line is ½ in. copper. I used ½ in. PEX run to the new sillcock. • I first shut the house water off, cut the existing copper line and installed a SharkBite copper/pex cutoff ball valve. • I had to enlarge the existing hole through the outer brickwork and inner concrete block with sill plate. The masonry work required a 1 ½ in hole through the brickwork and a 1 in. hole through the concrete block and sill plate. I used my SDS plus hammer drill for the masonry work. The largest masonry bit for SDS plus is 1 1/8 in. so I had to enlarge the hole after I drilled it. • I used an epoxy putty to strengthen the hole to give the mounting plate screws a good grip. • I installed the sillcock, then went under the house to attach the PEX. I used a “service loop” in the PEX to allow servicing the valve body from outside the house (see photos.) OPERATION: There is no water control in the valve body itself. Inserting the supplied connector turns the water on so you must have any attachment(s) already installed or the connector will spray water out the GHT end. Even with an industrial “Y” gate, garden hose, and watering timer on the connection I found it easy to Insert and twist the connector. The “Y” gate gives me the water flow control to the two attachments when installed. A quick connect would probably make that connection easier. SUMMARY: Although more expensive that other 12-inch-long freeze resistant sillcocks. I find the quality and features make this worth the money. PROS: Stylish, easy to use, durable, freeze resistant. CONS: May require advanced DIY skills and tools to install.

                    Nice hose bib
This is a nice hose connection. This is a nice clean and modern hose connection that looks great and works very well. I have a shut off valve in line for winter time to keep it from freezing in the colder months. This was very easy to install and use. The gray part is a push and quarter turn hook up and water is flowing. To turn off just push and quarter turn and pull and water shuts off with no spraying. The wedged gasket puts the valve at a downward slope to drain after use.
