        Best fan ever
This is the fan the builder should have installed. No more dripping walls and moldy windows and it’s so quiet that u can’t even hear it over the shower.

Our exhaust vents that came with the house were failing. We started seeing small black dots on the ceiling so we decided it was time to replace. We purchased this unit and couldn't be happier. It is super quiet...I mean super quiet. It is a bigger unit than our previous one so we had to make some adjustments in the attic for it's size. I am so glad we purchased this unit. No more foggy bathroom mirrors! I would definitely recommend this product.

We installed a new bathroom in our cabin and this works great for that. It works well for our bathroom, as it is approximately 48 square feet and this fan is rated for 80 CFM. That means all of the air in our bathroom will be completely changed approximately every 4.8 minutes. I tried running hot water from the bathroom sink for a good while with the door shut, and nothing was steamed up. I realize that a shower will create more small particles of water, thus more “steam” but I don’t think it will have any problems when we get to use the shower either. We will find that out very soon as the shower is going in next. From the feel of the air coming out of the exhaust though, it should do a very nice job when it comes to exhausting damp air. It is quiet and exhausts better than the one in our house. Installation was very easy on this bathroom fan, with the sliding brackets that can be screwed right to the ceiling joists. The wiring is easy, as you wire the “outlet” in the box and then just plug the unit into it. The closest thing that I had to a problem was that it has a 6” exhaust with a larger housing and I put this in a bathroom ceiling with 2” X 6” ceiling joists. When I added the deck for the loft above, I had to box around this due to the size of the housing but it did not cause any issues. The grill goes on easily and fits flush to the ceiling. I just want to point out that my bathroom is new construction, so that makes things a lot easier than trying to completely replace a current one. You might want to get a professional for that. If you will have an attic over the bathroom, you will want to be sure this box is covered with insulation. It is approved for direct contact insulation and will be wanting for good separation from the outside environment if you don’t make sure that it is covered. We didn’t need a light in ours, but if you have a larger bathroom, you might want to get one of this same company’s fans with a light in it. We are happy with this one.

When I see within the advertisement that the fan is `silent` or `almost silent`, I must admit that it makes me cringe. When air is sucked and then forced through, that in turn is a major cause of vibration. Some people are sensitive to this pressure while others not so much. Over the last few years I have gotten used to a fan that was rated at 3 sones and it was only recently when visitors remarked at my `noisy fan` that a decision was made to install a new one. In understanding that the higher a sone rating is, the noise level goes up, the obvious choice was to buy one that was lower than mine. Hence this .08 sone rating. The difference was amazing. Yes, I could hear the air being sucked into the unit but I really did have to put my hearing on high alert to be aware. Another thing I was used to was wiping the bathroom mirror after a shower. Not so with this Air King fan operating. No trace whatsoever of any moisture. After removing my old relic from the ceiling, and having run a pencil mark over the new fan grill, I carefully cut out what needed to done, screwed on the base of the fan assembly using the supplied brackets, connected the wires (I did wrap the ends in electrical tape after connection, better safe than sorry) slipped back the grill and she was all ready to go. Took around the 30 minute mark. The instructions are very clear and precise. Construction and assembly is rugged and durable. No sharp edges and easy and safe to handle. My bathroom is a little bigger than the 90 Sq feet and still exceeds expectations. Any doubts as to installing, call their customer support for advice as they are only too happy to assist and are more than willing to go through the procedure with you. An excellent after sales support.

Quiet Zone 80 CFM Ceiling Bathroom Exhaust Fan AK80LS by Air King Packaging: Cardboard box Contents: Fan unit preassembled. First Impressions: Nice looking, ready to install Description: Squirrel cage style fan, white plastic grill, 80 CFM Usage: The fan unit was simple to install. After cutting the hole in the location desired, the unit was simply set down into the hole from the attic and the ends of the mounting rails were fastened to the ceiling joists with screws (not supplied). The electrical portion can be done in advance or after the fact; we found it easier beforehand. The provided corner access cover and the selected knockout were convenient and easy to remove. A wire connector was placed in the knockout hole and the cable was fed thru it and fastened snugly. The cable wire ends were stripped and attached to the fan wires with wire-nuts and tape, and then the cover was reinstalled. After that it was just a matter of installing the ceiling cover grill. However, this is where we found a problem. The cover did not seem to be large enough to cover the corner of the sheetrock cutout properly. (See image.) That was a little surprising for this price class of bathroom vent fan. I have never seen one like that before. The noise level was acceptable for the bathroom, with just enough sound to mask bathroom noises. Overall Thoughts: Good fan, nice design with good flow qualities. Grill cover not big enough or should have been square.

I have finally finished installing this Air King exhaust/heater/light unit in one of my smaller bathrooms. This unit is a very solid well made construction. All metal construction, except for the fan blade and heater housing. The heater is quite substantial for a small bathroom (6' x 10'). I utilized a LED light bulb about 850 lumens, 5000 kelvin. This has given me the lighting I wanted. The exhaust fan evacuates the air sufficiently. The lens frame is plastic with a glass lens. This is also well made. My only complaint is that the sound of the exhaust is higher than what I like. I would prefer if it was about 1 or 2 sones.

When I was shopping for a bathroom fan, I wanted to have something that was very quiet. the bathroom in my basement is located directly under my master bedroom. I didn't want to hear the noise. I got this quiet zone fan and I am amazed! It does make some sound, so it's not as quiet as some other ones, but it more than fits my needs. It also moves a lot of air. I thought it was weird at first how the blower motor is mounted in the surround, but after using it, I see that it works very well, and I'm not going to question the design. Install was easy as could be. I was doing this in a new construction install, so there was no problem running the duct or the wiring. The exhaust dust is a nice hefty 4 inch duct - which allows it to move so much air. I love it.

This is an excellent ceiling light/exhaust fan/heater combination for small bathrooms. It comes with everything needed to install it, except for a 3 way switch. You'll need a switch to control the lights, the fan, and the heater. I had my contractor install ours, so I can't comment on how easy it would be to install, but it works and looks great. I ordered mine online, and had it delivered to my home. I attached pictures of the box and all the contents.

We are in the middle of two bathroom remodels and bathroom fans are one of the less glamorous items that was needed. I picked this ceiling fan because it is made in America and is very quiet being rated at 1.0 SONE. The fan also has an integrated humidistat that senses the humidity in the bathroom and will run the fan until the level reaches a preset percentage. The fan cover has a flush style cover that blends in well to the ceiling.
