Now you can easily and economically recreate the rustic look afforded by authentic, aged oak beams with American Pro Decor finished hand hewn beams. Cast from the molds of genuine reclaimed wooden barn beams in high density polyurethane with exacting realism, American Pro Decor hand hewn beams not only convey all of the characteristic distressed markings and rugged texture of the wood beams that were hewn into shape by early settlers, they are indistinguishable from the originals after which they have been manufactured. Ideally suited for transforming ordinary houses, stores and restaurants into extraordinary, charming country style homes, shops and inns, American Pro Decor hollowed hand hewn beams are lightweight, sturdy, and easy to install on virtually any type of surface by means of affixing them via countersunk nails or screws to nailing blocks or wood planks. To heighten the overall authenticity of an installation, American Pro Decor offers optional rubber beam strapping and polyurethane U-brackets, which perfectly replicate the look of the heavy, forged wrought iron fastening hardware used to secure and affix the beams of yesteryear in place.

Thanks for your inquiry. Most likely, over time, they could sag. However, It installing is as floating application, it is recommend to use a parallel set of 2x4" internally so the are fastened. You could email us at sales@americanprodecor.com for installation instructions.
We cut another piece to fit any part not covered but we have ours on the ceiling not wall. We covered the line with a leather faux strap about 3 inches wide so it looks seamless. Home Depot sells it too. Everyone loves the faux beams!
Thanks for your inquiry. Each one is only available in 12.75 feet units. Fir other options, email us at sales@americanprodecot.com
Thanks for your inquiry. 1 full piece weighs 13 lbs.
since there was a gap between my beam and my fake beam I used a cut 4x4 screwed into the main beam and connected the fake beam to the cut sections. I had HD create the paint color to cover any extra imperfections like screws etc hope this helps
We spanned 20 feet and used blocks to screw in to probably every 10 feet or so.. we used the faux straps to mask it. Not sure how it would go doing ends only, sorry.
Thanks for your inquiry. If we understand correctly. You the faux beams will go across the Cathedral ceiling but will be suspended. First, the longer the run the more the chances of the faux beam bending down specially if over 8 ft. If the faux beams will be suspended from the ceiling over 8 ft, it is advisable to run across Lumber secured by a joist hanger. The faux beam will go over the lumber. Any gaps generated by the joist hanger can be filled and screwed by using wood blocks. Once the lumber and wood blocks are secured, the faux beam can slide over and screwed from the sides.
they trim very easily with a hand or electric. saw.
Yes. The contractor trimmed to fit my room.
Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, they can be trimmed. They can be cut with a fine teeth hand saw. They are made of high density polyurethane foam.
Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, they measure 13 ft long. Not less.
get them as close as possible. Thee are 2 things you can do. YOu can use caulk (dark brown) & caulk the joints & add testure to match beams then take a piece of the beam into paint store at Home Depot & get a sample can to match color perfectly. 2. You can buy rubber beam strapping as i did and put the strap around the joint & hold with small nail or screw See my pic.
Thanks for your inquiry. There are 2 options to butt them together. The first one is the easiest which is by using our Rubber Straps (illusion of a cast Iron bracing Strap) to cover the seam. We offer 2 styles of Faux iron Rubber Straps, one is the single bolt option Model No.5APD10016 and double bolts strap Model No. 5APD10015. The second option, might not work properly since the texture of the beam is Hand Hewn. It might not align properly. If the piece you would like to join does, you can butt them and use caulk as a filler and then use a touch up stain. For the Dark Walnut, the closest match for touch ups is Minwax Gel Stain Coffee. For the Medium Oak, the closest match for minor touch ups is Minwax Gel Stain Hickory. Apply lightly. If you apply too much, it will look darker.
Thanks for your inquiry. Currently we only offer 13 ft lengths through Home Depot. Any other custom size and length can be manufactured. Please contact American Pro Decor directly at sales@americanprodecor.com
We bought an extra 13 foot beam and cut it to size to fill in the shortfall.
