What is the recommended mounting structure?
This 1-Ton chain hoist can be mounted using a hook mount. It can also be attached to a trolley as a traveling chain block.
How long is the ‘Hand Pull Chain’ Has ten foot lift but doesn’t mention hand pull chain.
What size chain is the lifting chain - 3/8" links or ? to be able to handle 4000 lbs.
Is this rated for permanent suspension? I want to use it to store my table saw overhead from my garage ceiling when not in use.
This chain hoist is not rated for permanent suspension. It is designed for lifting and lowering heavy objects, not for permanent storage. Suspending a table saw overhead for extended periods could put undue stress on the hoist and create a safety hazard. More on whether I rec'd a 2T hoist w/ 1T label. Per specs, 330N to raise 2T. => 54:1 mech advantage. Hoist has 380mm headroom which is 2T spec. SN sticker says 9020J00000142K. Raised a 435# load w/ just over 8# on the pull chain. Seems to be 2T.

I ordered a Big Red 2-Ton Chain Hoist. The box says "2 Ton Chain Block 4000 Lbs. Capacity." But on the end of the Chain Block itself it says "Torin BIG RED Jacks Chain Block 2,000 Lbs. Capacity ITEM NO. TR9010. How do I know what I really received?
It looks like it was mis-packaged by Torin... The Home Depot doesn't currently list a 1 ton hoist by Torin that I could see in my area. I received mine from Home Depot... Part #TR9020 It says 4000lbs on the hoist itself.
what is lift height if any
It seems the Home Depot site has mixed the reviews and Q&A for the 2, 3, and 5 Ton units. Per the specs, the lift height for the 2 ton is 2.5 meters or 8.2 ft. The 3 and 5 Ton are 3 M or 9.84 feet.

What is the maximum diameter of the rod that the top hook will accommodate? If it is only one inch, then won't a one inch rod be inadequate to hold 5 tons? Even if it is held by 16" center joists which have been reinforced? What would the hook attach to that could manage that weight?
