Will this kill and stop the spread of trumpet vine (campsis radicals) 20 years old ?
    ByJun 23, 2024
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

Poison Ivy and Brush Killer BK-32 is effective at killing trumpet vine. Since they are difficult to kill a second application may be necessary 21 days or more after the first application if new sprouts emerge. The second application to the new sprouts should deplete any energy reserves and finish the plant off.

I specifically bought this brand over other options because it claimed to kill "vines." Unfortunately it does nothing at all to ivy. In fact, it did nothing noticeable after one application, soaking every leaf thoroughly, even to the pepper tree shoots which I'd wanted to finish off (growing from root stumps from a tree which was removed, but many roots remain buried and just won't die). I doubled the concentration and tried again on both the ivy and the shoots. At least it killed the shoots that time, but the ivy is still blithely unaffected. I was hoping to kill to the root so things wouldn't grow back, but I'm highly doubtful that will work even on the pepper tree stump. I expect they'll be back by next year. If so, what was the point? It's faster just to cut them off when they grow. I want to kill it so it stops growing back. (I may dig down to the root stumps and apply full strength to the root itself as recommended and see if that helps.) Beyond worthless for the ivy, though. The photos show the ivy two weeks after the second application, which was double the concentration recommended for vines. Seems to be thriving.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have not had a chance to try this yet because of the weather but I’m glad we have a bottle on hand. My one issue is that it requires a lot of mixing to use. I much prefer a premixed, ready to use option for safe reasons

It does what it’s supposed to
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our yard ends where another persons hayfield begins. Because of that, lots of the brush, shrubs, ivy and weeds cross over and climb up the fence line. I placed this product out a couple of days ago and this is the result thus far

                      Killed the weeds!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks for helping with my war on the weeds! After just one good spraying many of my weeds were competely dead or dying! The bottle also went a long way filling multiple insecticide containers. I would definately purchase this herbicide!

                        Easy and effective.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good. It did kill the brush in my backyard, it killed the vines and poison ivy on my trees and fence. It was easy to use I just used a yard sprayer and water.

                          It works!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It could make up to 8 gallons to use. If you have the spray, this is the way to go. Very Affordable. The Spring is here, so much weeds, bushes and vines are growing fast. You can see the result just after one use. It’s safe and could cover a large area with just little of use. Great point is not leaving residue on your lawn. BUT Make sure to follow the instruction when mixing so it's enough to kill the weeds, not your lawn!!

                            One application
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I plan to use on an area that I pulled mint from that all of a sudden started growing everywhere. It remained under control for a year but I’m noticing small plants starting to form again so I plan to treat the area hoping this will rid my yard of this nuisance once and for all.

                              It’s amazing !
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got a chance to get to try this Bonide brush and poison ivy killer that is concentrated and I must admit, it’s absolutely amazing! It does a terrific job of keeping weeds at bay! Since I have used it I do not have a single weed! I also love that it is concentrated. A little bit goes a very long way and therefore won’t break the bank! I’m overall very happy with it and would definitely recommend it!

                                Killed flowers around weeds
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Okay, so very important to know this is a concentrate, so you need a container large enough to mix it in. It says it is safe for lawns and only kills the weeds, but it absolutely killed the flowers around the vines. I honestly don’t care though if it keeps the giant weird vines from growing back around my mailbox. So far so good.

                                  Works great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently used Poison Ivy & Brush Killer BK-32 Concentrate to help tackle some stubborn weeds and brush in my yard, and I am extremely impressed with the results. This concentrated formula is highly effective at killing tough and invasive plants, such as poison ivy, oak, sumac, and other brush. The product works quickly and efficiently, showing visible results within just a few days of application. I noticed that the targeted plants began wilting and dying off, leaving behind a clearer and more manageable landscape. Furthermore, I appreciate that this product is easy to use and versatile. The concentrate can be mixed with water and applied using a sprayer or brush, allowing for precise targeting of specific areas. It is also rainproof within hours of application, ensuring that it remains effective even if it rains shortly after treatment. Overall, I highly recommend Poison Ivy & Brush Killer BK-32 Concentrate to anyone dealing with stubborn and hard-to-kill plants. It is a powerful and reliable solution that delivers noticeable results, making it a must-have for maintaining a healthy and weed-free outdoor space. I am truly satisfied with this product's performance and will continue to use it for all my weed-killing needs.
