The decorative veneers on this 1/2 in. x 2 ft. x 4 ft. PureBond Cherry Plywood Project Panel are plain-sliced from domestically harvested cherry trees, exhibiting the uniqueness and warmth of natural timber with hardwood grains running along the length of each panel for stunning visual allure. Precision-cut with finely honed edges, these petite panels are perfect for smaller cabinetry and woodworking projects or putting the finishing touches on larger furniture-building jobs. The soy-based PureBond technology is strong and water-resistant, able to tolerate moisture and humidity better than plywood assembled with formaldehyde-based solutions. Additionally, the 5-ply panel is cost-competitive with UF-constructed plywood and will not expose indoor environs to toxic fumes, further preserving interior spaces and promoting healthy living and working conditions. Expand your DIY exploits with this cherry hardwood plywood to create a myriad of exquisite carpentry pieces, including footstools, benches, cabinets, shelves, end tables, pet food centers, serving trays and more.

Hi, Yes, but I always recommend a light 220 grit sanding before applying anything to the wood! Thanks.
Hello, The inner plies are made of poplar/pine in the eastern US and in the western US it is made of fir/pine.
Columbia uses Yellow Poplar as their plywood cores - East Coast USA harvested. But IMO since you will not see the core, the important thing is the PureBond construction which uses soy-based glues and resins to avoid formaldehyde which will off-gas for decades. Here is a link with some more info: https://www.columbiaforestproducts.com/product/purebond-hardwood-plywood/. I've used the cherry veneer on several cabinet and furniture projects and have not been disappointed. FWIW, Columbia's direct ship custom cut feature has been surprisingly spot on as well!
These panels are top grade, however, as far as I know Home Depot does not provide for a special order quarter sawn panel.
Please contact me at 800-637-1609 or mhale@cfpwood.com so we can discuss your special order options. Thanks - Michael
No, this is 1/2” plywood veneer, if you want rounded edges, and if you decide to use a 1/2” radius router bit, you will reveal the layers of core veneers....if that is OK with you. I worked on a project recently requiring rounded edges with a 1/2” radius. I decided to glue a 1/2” thick 2” wide solid cherry wood trim piece along each edge and then produced a rounded 1/2” radius using a router bit. Looks great. Just make certain that you can make glue line quality cuts for all joints on all edges; I.e. for both the plywood edge and the trim piece edge so that you have almost an invisible glue line joint.
I apologize, but we are not able to round the edges. We can only offer straight, square cuts at this time.
You would need to contact Home Depot for this answer.
There is a link at the bottom of the product page that says "Custom cut your order here for free". That link will take you to a form that, once submitted, sends your cut request over to our mill. Then you complete the order for the product one Home Depot's website like normal. Any questions, let me know, mhale@cfpwood.com -- Michael
The edges are not finished. you would have to find a band or edging at your local home depot to use with it.
Hello, The edges are not finished. You can use solid lumber to trim the edges or you could use edge banding material that is applied with heat.
Np, the edges and ends of the boards are not finished.
No, it is ready to stain.
No stripping required, sanding is up to the purchaser. I personally recommend sanding it, starting with a 120 grit to a 220 grit.
It is not required.
Hello, Just a light sand is all that is required before applying your finish. The panel will not have any coating on it that requires stripping.
Would need to contact Home Depot.
They are simply showing it can be stained.
Hello, The images of the four colors are an example of what the cherry will look like with different colors applied by the customer. The colors are not something that you could choose.
