Does the water spray past the opening? I love the design but I'm unsure of function?
This model is an open-concept, modern-European design. The glass will not cover the entire opening and depending on the behaviors of the person showering, water can escape out of the open end if the person showering is not being mindful of where they are splashing/spraying the water. We often suggest customers consider switching to an overhead rainfall-style showerhead to ensure the flow of water remains directly above the user and cannot be pointed directly at the open end. If installed and used properly, there should not be issues with water getting outside the shower, but it really depends on how the person is showering. Can this be configured to fold outside of bathtub instead of into it?
From the pivot point that is attached to the wall, the Aqua-Q Fold tub door will swing both into and out of the shower. Where the 2 pieces of glass are hinged together, the hinges can only fold in one direction. To get them to fold the opposite direction from what they are intended to do, you would have to install them backward which would look cosmetically unusual. What is the difference between the Aqua fold an aqua Q please
The Aqua Fold is the original design that features the curved top corner on the outermost door glass panel. Aqua Fold is only available in chrome hardware finish. The Aqua-Q Fold is a new product. Both pieces of glass will be rectangular (no curved top edge). The hinges for this model are more of a low profile design and this model is available in 4 hardware finishes (chrome, brushed nickel, oil-rubbed bronze, and satin black). The Aqua-Q Fold tub door will swing fully in and out of the shower (180-degrees). There is nothing to stop or limit the range of swing for this product and you will want to be careful to not hit the glass on any fixtures inside the shower when swinging the door into the showering area. The pkg that’s shipped is 5’2” by 2’ and about 4 inches thick. It fit in the back of my compact SUV with the seats in back flattened but it’s VERY heavy.
