Why are grab bars not recommended?
You may put grab bars on your finished (tiled) shower walls, but you cannot put them on the glass doors. Grab bars are designed to support the weight of a person, they typically require support behind your finished walls to secure them properly, and nothing like this should ever be applied to tempered glass because it could cause the glass to fail. The interior of your shower can be designed however you like and many customers install grab bars, shelving, etc. to their finished walls. Can this be used with Transolid Saramar shower walls or any other model shower walls?
Thank you for reaching out to DreamLine. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that our products will be compatible with other manufacturers' products. You can elect to finish your walls however you like, however, none of our shower bases will be compatible with direct-to-stud wall treatments. The shower base will be installed to your studs, then a 1/2" backer board will go up. Your finished wall material will need to be something that is designed to attach to backer board and cannot be any type of finished wall product that is designed to be installed directly to studs.
