I have 14 Echo tap-n-go string heads that fit my older SRM2100 & SRM2400 gas trimmers ... with those string heads work with the DSRM2100 trimmer. Looking at the owner's manuals on-line it seems the rapid loader head comes off like the SRM2100.

Hi, can anybody please take the trouble to measure the distance from where the string comes out of the eyelet, to the bottom of the bumper? My old B&D model was about 3/4", but I just bought one at Wallymart and it is 1-3/4". I feel that's too high. Thank

                Large property review
We have a a little acreage and about 3/4 acre of it is yard. This little trimmer impressed. My wife wanted the ease of electric I wanted the power of gas… compromise. Today was clean-up day. This trimmer edged through a patch of English ivy over growth on the side walk. Kolchia weeds 3 feet tall. Basically with a little finessing it will tackle pinky sized weed stalks. Put the switch on slow and grass trimming is easy. This would have no problem doing an average size lawn. It’s not overall heavy but it’s nose heavy- 2 strokes having the weight in the back have a different feel. a few attempts at handle placement to find to get where the fulcrum was better and not so nose heavy and we were off and trimming. pretty much used most of the string line in the first charge- wife and I trading of in the 95 degree weather. It did not make it the full distance on clean-up day with one charge but I have no concerns that it will maintain it with ease. Way more powerful than a plug in- a out a second to wind up and get inertia but once going it just does not bog down like a corded model but as maneuverable as a gas. So over all we are happy! Good job Echo on a nice product. ps read the manual on the speed head for loading - I did it the hard way the first time.

Trimmer okay, but not the Speed Feed Head
Bought this item the end of last month and used it this week for the first time. My yard is average size with a small amount of trimming and corner lot, so lots of edging. Trimmer seems to have plenty of power and battery life, but the speed feed head is useless. If you buy this do yourself a favor and spend another $36 dollars on the Rapid Loader Head. Had the same issue on the old gas unit this replaced 20 years ago and had to do the same thing and never another issue.

                    YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED
Was looking for a new trimmer for the upcoming spring season and the ECHO eFORCE 56-Volt Brushless Cordless Trimmer with 2.5 Ah Battery and Charger caught my attention. While I've always purchased gas powered garden equipment, I decided to give it a try and boy was I not disappointed. Easy to assemble and at under 10lbs. the weight of it is evenly distributed making it easy to handle. And don't let the battery fool you. The power that this trimmer puts out is incredible. If you are in the market for a new trimmer just stop right here because you've found the one.

Time to cut the trimmer cord
I recall my first electric trimmer as being weak and not very good. Later I got a powerful high amperage trimmer that could easily complete any task on my forested property. The problem has always been being tethered to an extension cord. I didn't want to repeat my first experience, so I passed on the first cordless trimmers. Finally my patience has paid off. The Echo trimmer uses a 56 volt 2.5 amp hour battery which feeds a brushless motor, giving it the necessary power and run time of about 56 minutes to get some real work done. Battery capacity is 126 Watt hours. Assembly is minimal with just attaching the two shafts and adding the handle. The included Torx 27 tool helps with the simple task. Unlike older trimmers this unit can be refilled without the need to open up the trimmer housing or using a crank. The battery does a nice job of helping to balance out the weight of the trimmer head, thus making it easier to manuever. The motor can operate in Bunny or Turtle mode, just think full power and reduce power. Using the Turtle mode will extend battery run time. For those needing more run time there is an optional 5.0Ahs battery. I found both speeds effective in dealing with most trimming tasks. Like all trimmers it has a safety switch which must be engage before the trigger can work. The default 16" swath can be changed to 14" by reversing the trim line cutting blade. To feed additional line simply bump the bottom of the trim head to auto feed. The included charger takes about 75 minutes to fully charge the Li-ion battery. Know that once on the charger there is no need to wait for it to fully charge before using the battery again. Unit includes a 5 year warranty on trimmer and 2 years on the battery and charger. Noise level is the same as corded units, so wear ear protection as well as eye protection. This unit will allow me to reach areas beyond my extension cord and with the power and run time to get the job done. The wide base on the motor allows for placing unit upright when resting on ground. I only wish all my cordless tools could at least share batteries when they are the same voltage.

                    Great poduct
I recently received the ECHO - ECHO eFORCE 56V 16 in. Brushless Cordless Battery Trimmer with 2.5Ah Battery and Charger. This trimmer is very well made. I had no trouble putting it together. WIth a half charged battery I tried it out in the yard. Not a lot of weeds this time of year but I did fine some old weeds in the lot next door. I was very impressed with the performance. It had plenty of power to cut through the weeds, it is not real heavy, lighter than my gas trimmer. I will be using this trimmer a lot this spring, quick easy bro use. I differently would recommend this trimmer.

                    Another Decent ECHO product
For those interested in country of origin, this trimmer was manufactured in CHINA. I was looking for an electric trimmer to replace my gas machine that forever needs carburetor adjustment. I had purchased an ECHO backpack blower and was very satisfied, so this choice was not difficult. Considering this product is composed of only three parts tp assemble, hoe difficult could it be. Not an easy assembly. The supplied wrench is too small to adequately hold when screwing in the retaining nut. Actually lost the nut trying to insert and fasten in whole. Created an extended wrench so that I had leverage to screw in the bolt. Alignment of the top to bottom requires squeezing both parts together to align the pre-drilled holes. Not easy. Charger looks decent enough and charged the battery in 1 hour. Fully assembled this unit is no more clumsy than the gas models. Do like the easy trigger guard and two speed functions. Will allow for longer life on the battery. However there is no strap harness with this unit, so an issue when using on large lawns like my 2 acres.

                    Another super product by Echo.
In 2017, I purchased an Echo 58v blower and 5 years later it still performs surprisingly well. The battery has lost some life, but I can still manage my needs with it. When I saw this gem, I knew it was going to be another LONG-LASTING product and a better solution to my messy gas-powered trimmer. No more gas to mix or hard starts. YAY! Echo has perfected the homeowner battery powered trimmer. The unit's straight shaft design is perfect for wider swipes and the unit feels well balanced. The speed is adjustable for battery consumption and on higher speeds this beast eats through anything difficult. The product offers many easy to change attachments one may need around the home. Cool! Assembly and battery charging is simple and the instructions are very well-illustrated. I suggest keeping the battery fully charged while storing for longer battery life. The unit is a tad heavy for smaller customers but with a homemade strap one can easily remedy this. I am very pleased with the quality and performance these Echo products provide. I guarantee you will be purchasing a product that will last many years from a brand we know and trust. A very nice product!

My first battery powered trimmer. Has plenty of power to tackle my small yard. Trimmer head is easy to restring and seems sturdy. Balance seemed a little awkward at first since motor is above trim head instead of at the top like gas powered models but got used to it.

                    Super helpful
This weed trimmer does a good job. I rated it 4 stars because it needs to be recharged after about 2 hours of use. I think the brochure stated 15 hours. I purchased it to remove foxtails from an additional lot I bought with my house, but have since needed a lawnmower. On high speed, it ran about 2 hours before needing to go back on the charger, but it charges quick and I did other tasks inbetween charge times. I think now that I have a mower, the trimmer will be used to get hard to reach places and around trees. I'm glad I purchased it, it will be helpful to have on hand. I have not yet tried to replace the string and am hoping it is easy enough to figure out. The tapping feature to lengthen the string while in use worked very well and I always had the right length while cutting.
