is this 18 inches from the edges or from the radius of coverage? i have a 16 inch hole. what is the largest hole it will cover?

It has an inner diameter/hole size of 3-1/2 inches and is typically recommended for canopies up to 4-5/8 inches (as that is the total flat space before any design begins). Hello! I am not sure if that will work or not as the chandelier doesn't specify the size of the canopy. Our Orrington Medallion can accommodate a canopy of 4-3/4", so if that chandelier's canopy is 4-3/4" or smaller it will work.

Hi Mariely, Thank you for your interest in our product line. Unfortunately, at this time Home Depot does not allow the option of splitting medallions in half. However, because the Riley medallion is made of Polyurethane, it is very easy to cut it in half with any standard wood working tools. -Joe

Our installation guide can be found to the right of the product overview. Adhesive caulk is used to apply ceiling medallions and ceiling rings can be applied in the same way as well. -Joe
My chandelier cover plate is 5 inches across, will I be able to use this medallion or will the cover plate cover the intricate design around the center hole?
