Is the design on both sides or is the design just on the front and the back is smooth?
Thank you for your interest in our products and the great question! These brackets are specifically designed to be installed flat along the side of a staircase. Because of this, the design is only on one side while the other is flat. On the flat surface, you would apply construction adhesive and press it into the stair case. Once set, you would use finishing nails to secure it in place.
