I'm sure these function fine, but they did not work for me. What I had asked for in the online HD chat was a thin glove for maximal finger dexterity, for example a glove I can wear while operating a camera. I guess these are the thinnest Cut Resistant gloves that Home Depot has, but they are like heavy winter wool gloves, and I had to take them off to operate my camera. Guys at the jobsite gave me a pair of Maxiflex Endurance model #34-846 which I used instead and which worked well.

Bought these for my son, who uses knives all the time in his line of work. He told me they fit well and work great, will buy them again.

This was a gift for my sister who cut her finger picking up palm fronds. The gloves are perfect for her!

Despite the fact I've been cooking and prepping foods for many years, I do, occasionally, cut myself. With my recent purchase of a mandoline, I decided better "safe than sorry". My hands are not very large; however, I found the medium gloves fit well. I used them recently when prepping foods on the mandoline and they worked well. Would definitely recommend them if you are purchasing/using extra sharp utensils.

I was glad that this came as a pair since many seem to come with one. The first time I went to use them I only put one on figuring there was no way to cut the other hand that was holding the knife and they looked like they would be difficult to clean. About ten seconds later with my new very sharp Mundial 5100 Series 6-Inch Boning Knife, Black sitting on the counter I brushed up against it and cut the hand that was not gloved! Yes, it is nice to have two! And when handling a lot of meat it also provides a small amount of protection from the cold. I tend to buy in bulk and cut up and freeze ~30lbs in one sitting so my fingers get cold. I also feel I get better grip on the meat with these on. The only thing I don't like is that they are hard to clean without putting in the washer. If I wanted to use them every day this would be difficult so luckily I tend to do all my cutting at once but still run into what to do with them if I am not ready for a suitable load of laundry (I would only wash them with towels not clothes and even then I scrub them with a dish crush and soap before I put them in). If you handle raw meat with them the weave ends up with meat packed in there! Also- I did a test by putting a grape in one of the fingers and tried cutting it. I did not want to ruin the gloves so I did not really try to cut through- I suspect I could- but I ran the knife across as I might when slicing and it did not go through. There have also been numerous accidental brushes where I know I would have been cut and was not so they definitely help. I doubt they are going to help in situations with great force but for basic slicing and de-boning they are very helpful!

The gloves are made of elastic material that retain bits and pieces of food in its elastic grooves which is very hard to clean even if you put it in washing machine. Obviously, you do not want to put the gloves in the washing machine after each use beacuse it wears out rather quickly. The glove protect you against accidental cuts and that is the reason for 1 star rating.
