Would the Kent or Manchester cupola be able to adapt to an octagonal gazebo roof ?

I already have the roof and weather vane (copper). The base of the copper roof is 30x30 sq. What size of wood cupola I should buy, so I can install my roof/weather vane on top of it?

Here is another tip; when calculating the size of your cupola, use our steadfast builder's rule of thumb: 1.5 in. of cupola width for every foot of unbroken roofline. The materials are specified as cypress, but the base is clearly pine. Is the photo accurate? or is the base actually cypress? It makes a huge difference because pine will rot very quickly especially if it is in contact with the roof. Please clarify.
What is hiegth from base to peak
While it is 18" high when received, in most cases it will be installed on a ridgeline of a peaked roof, or on a slanted roof near the peak. In both cases, the corresponding angle cuts need to be made in the base, so the final dimensions will depend upon the pitch of the roof, and how much material must be removed to allow it to stand straight when installed.
We want to use this for venting. Can the vinyl handle the heat? Will it have a flashing for the roof?
Hi JT, thanks for your question! Our Louvered cupolas are designed to be decorative and functional so yes, this cupola will allow ventilation. We have been selling our cupolas all over the US to areas like Texas, California, Arizona, etc. where there are higher temperatures and have not heard any about any heat related issues. The cupola does not come with flashing but we do offer instructions on how to apply caulking between the cupola and roof to seal out any moisture.
Does the Cupola come already with the roof cutout or will I need to do that?
