Yes, this can be used in a wall application. The maximum cutting depth is 4-3/4" and weighs 20.7 lbs. with a 1" arbor. It comes with a universal blade that works in both wet and dry applications. An advantage of this saw is its safety. Counter blade rotations guides the tool away from operator's body during use.
This saw can be used with multiple blades as long as it has a 7/8"/1" arbor but cannot be used with spacers to channel cut.
You can use it either way. It cuts alot better with water though. Not powerful enough to go fast. Have to cut very slowly but it does work well going slow with water.
