About This Product
Hardie Panel Sierra 8 Cedarmill Fiber Cement Vertical Siding has a woodgrain appearance making it ideal for exteriors where a traditional wood look is desired. Sierra 8 panels add further interest to a home's exterior with a vertical groove that runs every 8 inches. ASTM E136 noncombustible cladding will not attract pests including termites and woodpeckers. HZ10 engineering means it is made to withstand high heat, humidity, moisture, hail, tropical storms and hurricane winds. Board is factory primed using a primer with a slight yellow hue. To finish, apply an acrylic, water-based exterior house paint to the primed board within 180 days of installation.

Best way to cross cut panel ?
You can cut the product with a HardieBlade on a power saw or with shears.
Can you install Hardie 4' x 8' panels on the exterior horizontally instead of vertically?
Yes, the HardiePanel vertical siding can be installed horizontally, however, care must still be taken that the horizontal joint between panels is still being Z-flashed and gapped a 1/4" without caulking.
Does the vertical panel come in something less than 8 inch between grooves?
Unfortunately, the Sierra 8 panels are only available in an 8" on-center condition.
Can I use this for a ceiling under a 20'X6' 2nd floor outdoor cantilevered balcony....or is too heavy?
This would be more of an application for the HardieSoffit panels which are specifically made for soffit applications.
Can I put decorative porcelain tiles on top of it in a exterior wall?
Sorry, it is not approved for tile applications. That is what our Backer tile underlayment boards are for.
