Installing was easy my own doing was what made me have to break my head. Make sure you watch the video thoroughly on each part (if using interactive mode) with the app. I missed crucial details in the loop and out the wire through the hole rather then under.. other the that taking me an extra bit it was easy enough to follow the step by step interaction was very helpful! It connected quickly and updated in a couple minutes. Adding users and new access codes as well as guest access is so easy through the app. The locking is secure. Lock connected right away with my internet and compatibility with Google home and the Kwikset app. The only star I take away is because it is rather loud locking and unlocking.

Lasted only two years. Do not buy.

I installed 3 of these keypads on my house. I went with the smart code 270, no WiFi or Bluetooth or anything. Easy to install and setup a code. I like the smart key feature, I was easily able to key all 3 keypads to the same key. Would be nice if the keypad numbers glowed in the dark, they do light up when you press the lock button, but that isn’t always easy to find in the dark. Overall I’m happy with these keypads.

Ease of installation of the lock and the app are great! It works great and I am a fan! I especially like that I can add codes with amazing ease on the app and then delete the codes at my convenience. The app is intuitive and allows for more codes than I need... and can change them whenever. Also, I can now lock/unlock from anywhere I have internet access. I am a fan.

After my door lock broke and the key got stuck in the door AND there was that $500 locksmith ripoff to get me in the house and install a new door handle, I decided to get a lock that would work both with a keypad or a key. I chose the Halo Touchscreen because I like the WiFi options to open/close the door remotely, the ability to have different door codes (up to 250) of 4 to 8 digits and the notification of the door being unlocked at the time that event occurred. As we used to say, RTFM (read the fine manual) BEFORE starting installation! Don't try to wing it. I used a regular Phillips screwdriver but also needed a stubby Phillips. Also make sure you cell phone is charged at least over 70% as you will need to use the Bluetooth to update the firmware once the lock is installed. The layout of some of the manual pages is a little odd as they list the main step in the center of the page, but substeps that sometimes need to be completed BEFORE the main step on the left/right side of the page--hence RTFM before starting. You will need to uninstall the old deadbolt first. Then take a moment and clean the door (outside and inside) where the Halo is going to be installed. You will be surprised how dirty the door is and will be annoyed at the dirt once the new, shiny touchpad deadbolt is installed [grin]. Follow the steps (there is an proper orientation for the deadbolt; UP is embossed on the housing). It may help to have an extra set of hands to hold the front/exterior keypad while install the back plate with the two long bolts. It took a little jiggling to find the holes where the long bolts insert. Flashlight may help, but I just did it by feel and trial and error. DO NOT force the bolts/crossthread. They screw in smoothly when properly orientated. I used the stubby Phillips to install the bottom screw on the inside housing since the regular Phillips could not fit between the lower door handle and the new touchpad lock. You will then use your phone (following the direction in the manual) to pair your Bluetooth and the firmware update will begin automatically. It took about 10 minutes because there were several firmware updates that installed. I just let my phone on a chair by the door while the firmware updated. I did NOT do anything else with my phone because I didn't want to risk messing up the firmware update! Then I created an account on the Kwikset app on my phone. The app will verify both your email address and then your cell phone number. Turn on location. You will need to enter at least one 4-8 digit door code at this time. I then tried the door code with the door physically open (so I didn't accidentally lock myself out of the house and I had also opened the front door, just in case). Everything worked fine. I then setup different door codes for my friends thru the Kwikset app. The connection to my WiFi is handled thru the app. The unit uses 2.4GHz signal. My router defaults to WiFi6, but is supposed to be 'smart' and recognize 2.4GHz. In my case, the router locked up (not unusual when being asked to use 2.4GHz for the first time), so I had to unplug, wait 30 seconds, replug in the router and wait for signal to be acquired, then all went well. The Kwikset app handled the loss/re-acquisition of signal with no problems and now everything is connected. I allowed notifications to be sent to my phone for the time being. Then I read the fine instruction sheet 3 times on how to rekey the door to my existing Kwikset lock key. The process is really quite easy, but I made sure I had everything ready: instructions nearby, both keys and key reset tool and took my time. The keylock reset tool goes in about 3/8" / 6-7mm--not fully to the neck as indicated on the instructions. Actual rekeying took maybe a minute. All is good. So far (less than a day), I am pleased with this product. I will try to update about battery life (4 AA batteries) and sun/heat exposure as this lock faces east and is in direct sunlight.

I bought a Halo Touchscreen WiFi lock in January, 2025. Install was straightforward, it connected through the app on my phone, did a firmware update, and I thought all was set. Then, less than two weeks after installing it, I received an alert that my battery level was critically low. I replaced the batteries with new Duracell AAs, and wouldn’t you know, in less than two weeks, I received the same message that the battery was critically low. I reached out to Kwikset and they said they would send me a new internal mechanism. The new one arrived ten days later, I installed it and thought all was well. Welp…. Less than three weeks later, the batteries are dead again! What the heck, Kwikset? The WiFi signal is strong to the device, all other features function fine, it just drains four AA batteries every 12 days or so. Absolutely ridiculous. Will be returning it to the store for a full refund.

Excellent product quality. Installation is a breeze helped by app instructions. I rekeyed to match my existing key (smart key) - that is a great feature. App is polished and super easy to use. I highly recommend this product.

Quick and easy installation, works like a champ. My only frustration was trying to figure out how to program it. Directions say to scan the QR code to download the app, and that didn't do it. I finally went to the App Store and downloaded the app, everything was easy after that.

Love this door lock !! Kwikset door handles and locks are the best products on the market I use them often and always love them
