I think that the previous responder did not understand your question. Yes, you can control two devices from one location. I have this switch, and I use it for just such an application. If I flip the switch to one extreme, Thing 1 runs, and Thing 2 is off. If I flip it to the other extreme, Thing 1 turns off, and Thing 2 runs. If I flip the switch to the center position, neither thing runs.
