I used it once and when removing the SDS bit it was covered in black greasy fluid and was also coming from the chuck. Is this normal?
Yes, that is normal. You are supposed to apply tool grease to the shank of impact bits. It protects them and the tool from excessive wear. It will heat up as you use it and it can dribble out.
