I have 1x2s installed as weatherstripping. am I correct when I say I would need to remove those and then install this or do I attach them directly to the 2x2s around the door? Also does 36ft fit a two car garage or a one car garage?

We are unable to answer your question because there are too many variables and without physically trying it on your door, there is no way to tell if it will work.

Does the standard color match Andersen Sandtone? If not, what type of paint would you recommend for a climate that does freeze in the winter? Thanks.

          Answer This Question

We are unable to answer if our color matches another company's product. Our product is made of PVC. We recommend contacting someone in the paint department, that can advise you which paint product will work best.

You will probably need to use adhesive or double-sided tape or sheet metal screws.

I would think you could easily install on stucco using a construction adhesive caulk ie:liquid nails.

Summarized by generative AI from text of customer reviews

Customers say the garage door seal provides excellent insulation and effectively stops drafts, with many appreciating its paintable feature. Installation is generally straightforward, though some found it easier with assistance. While the product performs well in sealing, a few users noted that the visible nails can detract from its appearance. Overall, it is considered a good value for its price and functionality.

                    3 car garage install
I installed this product on two seperate garage doors. The total time of install only took me 1 hour 20 minutes with only a hammer and a razor blade. I opened the garage door during install and started with the top edge. I took the smaller edge of the stripping nailing to the inner edge of fascia board of garage opening allowing the bigger portion of the stripping to rest against the actual garage door once it was installed. I started on one end nailing every 6 inches pulling the stripping tight and aligning it with the inner edge as you can see in the picture. Once i got the end of the door i cut it using a razor blade which was pretty easy and effortless. One thing to note is after install, the garage door was having a tough time to close because of how tight the stripping sat against the gargae door when trying to be closed. I found that after manually closing the door and after a few hours the stripping molded to the door now allowing the garage door to be closed like normally before and had no problems closing the door with a remote or garage door button inside. Prior to install the inside garage would lose roughly 10 degrees of temp per 1 hour until it equaled outside temps. Now ive notice its losing 10 degrees roughly every 3 hours now. I just ordered insulated panels for the garage door to finsih this project off and im thinking the temp lost will double again and will be lost every 6hours once i finish the panel install on the doors themselves. I will leave a review on that product as well.

Went on easy and does a good job of insulating. I installed this as part of a "make over" of the garage door including insulation (R8 kit from Home Depot), a new bottom seal. the garage is noticeably cooler than before and very pleased. The only negative is that is took 2 coats of quality Sherwin-Williams paint to properly cover it.

                      Pleased So Far
I was looking for a weather seal fro my garage door which faces west. This is the only product I found that you can paint. I looked everywhere and it can only be had at Home Depot online. I read the reviews and installation suggestions. My recommendation is to follow the instructions and nail the seal with 4 inch spacing. I tried the suggestion of using staples and it did not look good, so I pulled the staples and used the nails. There were a couple of spots where I did use staples to supplement the nails to get the best seal. Doing the overhead is the hardest part of installation. Due to the configuration of my trim work, I had to cut my seal in order to get the best fit. It painted up nicely with two coats. The test of time will tell if this holds up to the hot Texas sun in the afternoons. For now I am pleased with the seal and the look.

                      Ugly result
The product is intended to provide a seal around the sides and top of a garage door. It is made of a rubber-like material. Any bend -- even the slightest -- in installing the material results in a pucker that will be very difficult to disguise. Instead, use available products where the soft lip is attached to a stiffer board-like mounting edge.

                      Overpriced!
It's fine and mostly does what you want but the price is pure corporate greed. This should be $25 tops.
