My contractor mentioned the size in number as 80. what is that in size ?
The 80 size/number indicates the profile can work with a tile thickness of 5/16” (8mm).
Does this item come in a pack of 2 or is it just one piece? In the description it says 2- 1/2 inch?

I have a 5/16 bevelled subway tile that I believe is 1/2 at the center. Should I purchase a 1/2 or 5/16 jolly trim to accommodate for cuts?
To give the best answer I would need to know the tile dimensions in consideration of trowel size/bond coat thickness. But I would just split the difference a bit between thicknesses and use a 7/16 and yet you will not have the cut edge exposed. Tip use a diamond sanding sponge on the edges to slightly round them.
Would you use this size with 3/8? thick large 12 x 24? tiles? Things I read say you need to accommodate for more thinset mortar to hold the tiles since more warping. A little concerned as to whether edge will protrude above edge and cause water to sit
Yes, this profile works up to a 1/2" (12.5 mm) thick tile. For selecting profile heights, we suggest using the same height as the tile if available. If the tile is a large format tile (12"x12" or larger) we suggest going to the next size up to accommodate for the additional thin set for setting.
