My opening is 28 3/4 X 78 1/2. Can I trim a 30 X 80 solid wood door to fit?
You can only cut door down 1/4 inch from each side of door. The 28" door fits opening of 29 3/4, That might work for you after trimming?
Is this solid wood or solid wood core, and is it trimmable to a 31 inch width?
It is a solid core door. Trimming allowance is as follows: height - 1/2-in max (1/4-in top and 1/4-in bottom). We do not allow for trimming with width. Trimming beyond allowance will reduce structural integrity as well as void the warranty. Please visit your local Home Depot and they can help find a vendor who can special order this door for you.
