The SS601ST can be assembled by one person .
The SS502J requires assembly . Unfortunately we do not offer assembly services .
Not sure how this is being sold these days, but it is super easy to put together--the walls & bottom 'snap' into place w\o too much effort, then the lid snaps on in the same way. It's plastic has faded over the years but it has held up well. We use it to keep our granddaughters' sandbox toys in it so it is in an unshaded, west-of-house exposure.
I can't remember if mine came assembled or not, but even if it came in pieces it's an easy assembly with snap together pieces.
The SS601ST 22 gallon Deck Box is manufactured in the USA.
Yes
Yes! We used it on trips, outside of our RV to throw shoes in before going inside "for storage"! We never had an issue when it rained, & we had some storms! Submerged in water idk lol! However 1 yr later, it still stays dry out on the patio! I was impressed personally!
It's not waterproof. The bottom is not sealed so if there is water inside it will drain out and if water rises high enough, 1-2 inches, it could come in. The lid fits well but isn't air tight. For context, I've used this box for more than a year for packages. It sits on my porch under the sun, rain, and winter weather. I've had more than 5 inches of snow sitting on top of it. I've not had a single wet package since I started using it for this purpose.
Yes it is. I liked the first two I got and ended up getting two more for the deck. I keep my pool towels in one of them
There is not a built in hole or pocket to receive a wheel post. There are small flat areas (approx. 2" X 1-1/2") at the corners that are flush with the bottom that could possibly receive a small wheel that is attached to a plate. However, there doesn't appear to be any reinforcing for that, only the standard thickness of the box, so a screw may not last long. Hope that helps.
I mean, I wouldn’t…but you probably could if you add extra support to the box itself.
Never thought of it. Probably but would need to support the center bottom so it doesnt sag.
Technically, there is enough space on the bottom of the box (at rather edge) to mount some wheels. The actual bottom of the box is removable so that it can be cleaned and, being so, wheels could not be mounted on that piece since it would lift the bottom into the box—making the wheels unusable. Also, if you plan to sit on the box to change shoes, etc., the frame might crack if it were on wheels. As it is, without wheels, the weight is evenly distributed over the entire bottom of the frame and not just on four wheels. Plus, the weight of the box on wheels would make it a moving object in any type of wind or breeze. So, I wouldn’t recommend wheels, but they could be carefully added and would be of the locking type so that the box would be more stable.
Yes you can add wheels. Keep in mind adding wheels or modifying the original design in any way will void all warranties . .
Probably, although then you’d have holes drilled where rain and stuff might get in around the wheel hardware. They are light though until they are filled up so they are easy to move around
No assembly necessary
There were only a few pieces, and my husband was able to put together quite easily.
No, but assembly is super easy.
No this item cannot be purchased pre-assembled .
Don't think so. But assembly is simple. No tools are required, it just snaps together.
