Cleaning process: 1. Is the drain plug completely on the bottom of the large basin for easy emptying of the used water? 2. For people who bought this fountain, how often do you clean it? I own two fountains, one I have to clean monthly and the other only requires cleaning every two years as it has an excellent reverse flush system.
Hello, Thank you for the questions. The fountain does not have a drain hole in the large bowl. The fountain would need to be drained by hand. To clean the fountain we recommend draining the water and disassembling and wiping with a soft damp cloth. Cleaning frequency would depend on where the fountain is and the amount of debris that can dirty the water. We would recommend monthly to maintain the fountain and pump in good working condition.
