where is the foot valve located and how to remove does the pump come with a foot valve

Does this need to be taken out in the winter? What winter prep do you need to do?
Mike, thank you for the question. The pitcher pump will self-drain if the handle is left in the ‘up’ position and the foot valve is removed. If you use a foot valve, you can prevent the pump and pipe from freezing only by removing the pump from the well and keeping the water in the well below the frost line.
