24 in. Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel Top Control 51 dBA Dishwasher with 3rd Rack

We’ve been using this 24-inch top control dishwasher for a while now, and overall it’s been a dependable and convenient addition to our kitchen. One of the biggest highlights is how quiet it is. At 51 dBA, it runs quietly enough that you can have a conversation or watch TV without noticing it much, which is a big upgrade from older models. It also does a great job cleaning dishes—even heavily used plates and cookware come out looking spotless thanks to its multi-stage wash system. The third rack is a really useful feature. It’s perfect for utensils, measuring spoons, and smaller items, and it frees up more space in the lower racks for larger dishes. The adjustable second rack is another plus, making it easier to fit taller items when needed. The fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish is also a nice touch. It keeps the exterior looking clean with minimal effort, which is especially helpful in a busy household. When it comes to drying, the heat dry feature works well overall. Dishes come out mostly dry, especially ceramics and glass, though like most dishwashers, some plastics may still need a quick wipe. The added drying system with fan assistance definitely helps reduce moisture compared to basic models. One thing to be aware of is the filter. Like many modern dishwashers, it has a filtration system that helps keep food particles from redepositing on dishes. It does its job well, but it does require occasional cleaning or maintenance to keep performance at its best—something to keep in mind if you’re used to older self-cleaning filters. Overall: This dishwasher offers a great balance of quiet operation, cleaning performance, and flexible loading options. Our dishwasher started to leak heavily from the bottom about 15 months after install. The repair technician is dictated the tub is made of a plastic material and the heating element is right above it, causing a warped edge at the bottom. Water now freely flows out onto the floor. This started just outside of the 1 year warranty which is extremely frustrating. Do not recommend!

I loved this dishwasher until the control panel stopped working sporadically at 15 months old. Clearly, a known problem. Wish I knew before buying it. Costs almost $300 for a new control board. Why buy a new board/panel if this will likely happens again in 15 months? Very frustrated!

This dishwasher gets the job done at our office and we like how it works. It's not too loud and the quick cycle pretty much does everything we need it to.

It stopped working 13 months after installation. (No lights turning on; no response to buttons.) I took off the front panel and found wires melted into the plastic layer of the door. First attempt at calling Whirlpool took 35 minutes with no resolution.

The rating on the sign seemed to indicate that it might not be as quiet as other models but I’m very pleased with it. Dishes come out beautifully, the exterior design is clean looking, I love the ability to adjust the height of the upper rack and this is the first fish washer I’ve had with the top silverware tray. It’s a great feature! I’m very pleased with the purchase.

I’ve had this dishwasher for a little over a year and a half, and the start button stopped working. When I called Whirlpool, they told me this is a common issue with these models. After the evaluation and repair, I was charged $340 just to get it running again. If this is a known issue, it’s disappointing that nothing is done to prevent it or support customers beyond the standard warranty. Customer service wasn’t very helpful aside from acknowledging that repairs are common. Please be cautious when purchasing from Whirlpool. I highly recommend buying an extended warranty, as repairs can be costly. Unfortunately, appliances just aren’t made like they used to be.
