Wooster Sherlock Roller Frame has a unique retaining spring that securely holds the roller cover to prevent it from slipping off. After painting, the roller cover removes quickly and easily with a single rap of the frame on the edge of a paint bucket or trash can. The solid cage allows even coverage of the surface being coated. The handle is threaded for attachment to all extension poles or can clip to Wooster Sherlock GT poles.

I would suggest when your not painting then remove the roller cover into a plastic then rinse off the remaining paint. Also when you are painting don't let the roller just sit in the paint when not painting.
I have the extendable SW version and it work just fine.
Yes, the Wooster Sherlock Roller Frame is compatible with all Wooster extension poles including the Sherlock and Sherlock GT.
Unfortunately, no. The roller cage on the Sherlock roller frame cannot be removed to only have a rod-style frame left. We do offer rod-style Mini-Koter's in a 6-inch size. You might be interested in the 6-inch Wooster Mini-Koter Frame (see internet #307741704). Wooster Customer Service is also always available to help at 800-392-7246.
It will! It will also work with some broom and mop poles as well
The Wooster Sherlock Roller Frame will not lock on and off with the Purdy Power Lock pole system. The Wooster locking system with the Sherlock GT Pole locks into the outside of the Sherlock Roller Frame handle, whereas the Purdy Power Lock Pole locks into the inside of the roller frame handle. (If you attach the Purdy 'conversion tip' to the Purdy Power Lock Pole, the Wooster Sherlock Roller Frame should be able to be threaded onto the Purdy pole.)
Yes. This is the best roller handle I’ve ever used.
I believe all of the extensions have the same size ends
Yes
I have been using a fixed pole with a steel threaded end. Any pole should work well, I would recommend the steel threaded end for longevity.
If you’re painting walls and ceilings, an extension pole is vital. Makes your life much easier! I bought the Wooster extension and was very happy with it.
The Wooster Sherlock roller frame is compatible with all Wooster extension poles. The Wooster Sherlock GT Convertible (see product #203150945) is an excellent choice as it features the Wooster tool bayonet grip tip that locks Wooster tools on ensuring they never become loose. The Sherlock GT also contains a threaded conversion tip in the handle, making it compatible with all your standard threaded tools. However, if this does not appear to you, the standard threaded Wooster Sherlock extension pole (see product #100187725) is also an option. Each pole comes in many different sizes. If struggling to find the perfect pole for your project, please feel free to contact Wooster Customer Service at 800-392-7246.
Not sure what the warranty is on this item. Not sure it's worth pursuing since they are not expensive. You might try Wooster,Customer Service, they may do something for you.
The roller frame pictured is not a Wooster Sherlock roller frame. Home Depot does have an excellent return policy. A detailed outline of Home Depot's return policy can be found under the Customer Service Returns section on the website.
I would return it to the store you bought it from for replacement.
That picture is not a pic of the Wooster Sherlock frame. That’s a cheap roller frame. I’ve never had a Wooster break like that.
Yes......In Wooster, Ohio.
I'm not sure but I think yes.

Yes, the Wooster Sherlock roller frame is Made in the USA.
it work fine
As for best practices, I’m not sure. With respect to this roller frame and a Wooster roller cover the closed end, with the metal tines, the frame has a lip the cover rests against that is probably 2mm thick at most. On the open end the cover is completely flush with the frame.
The cover should meet the end cap of the frame. There should not be any gap, and the cover should not exceed the endcap. A frame with the incorrect dimensions could also cause this. Without seeing the exact frame and covers you are witnessing this with, we cannot identify the problem. We welcome you to call Wooster Customer Service at 800-392-7246. We are happy to assist!
This is the best roller frame made.. I have used them all from the cheapest to the most expensive.. This is the only one to come along in the past half a century with a difference.. I use the lower end covers on textured surfaces and have never had a problem.. Just make sure that it is sated properly on the inside without any paint build-up and there shouldn't be a problem..
stay with the 9 in cover recommended
I don't know if all the covers made by all manufacturers are of the same dimension. However, the cover I used on this roller fit perfectly. What bothers me more when using a lesser cost frame was covers that moved off the frame after a few back and forth strokes. This roller frame has several metal fingers at the open end of the roller which grabs the inside of the cover and keeps the cover in place. During the entire project, the cover never moved at all. I was impressed.
slide the roller until it hits the stop at the end and won't go any further
I had the exact same issue. I looked at the product on the HD website to see if I was missing a part or something. I looked at the questions and reviews when I saw that someone else had the same issue. I was planning to return the roller when I got the idea to fill that gap with tape. I used Frog tape because it has a chemical that is supposed to block paint from getting under the tape. It did the trick. I wrapped the open end of the roller with the tape until the cover went on without a gap. I used it to paint and absolutely no paint got inside of the roller. The roller itself worked perfectly and was a dream to paint with. Hope this helps someone.
Perfect fit on my roller.
