Q:Are these paintable?

Answer This Question
A: Yes, Acurio panels are paintable.
PVC is an inert, static material with minimal response to environmental conditions (water, sun, etc.) which makes it an excellent material for paint. The material has a matte finish which aids in paint adhesion. Though no surface preparation is absolutely necessary, it is recommended that the surface be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol or acetone just in case dirt or unseen oil is present. Wipe with a soaked cloth and quickly wipe away any excess cleaning solution. Lightly sanding the surface may be beneficial though this may leave unsightly sanding scratches that can be seen if applying light coats of spray paint (not so much if using a brush). Buffing with an orbit buffer is an option. Use micro poly-fiber pads.
Paint:
Use a quality interior or exterior latex, vinyl or acrylic lacquer paint (do not use oil based paints).
Priming prior to painting is only necessary if required by the paint manufacture.

Q:Would these panels be stiff enough to mount 3 inches off the wall and hang clothes from the grid to display an outfit in a retail store? Instead of using a wire grid panel for the display purpose? Thanks

A: Acurio lattice panels are meant to be purely aesthetic. The panels should not be installed and used as a structural component.

Q:Can I cut this? If so, what tools are required? This is the right height, but I'll have to adjust for width.

A: Acurio Lattice panels cut with standard wood working tools. A circular saw with a carbide tipped blade will work just fine.

A: Yes. We cut ours with a jog saw (though circular saw worked, just less precise). A table saw could make the cuts much straighter.

Q:I want something to hide my garbage can beside the garage. This is one of the plastic large garbage cans of waste companies for residential use. I would need several of these to make a little 2 sided corner alcove on the side of the garage to hide the garbage can til it's needed. How do I put these together and make this? There are no pictures using this as a garbage can privacy spot.

A: Our lattice panels can be used in many different custom applications. This will require framing the panels in between posts. We recommend contacting a contractor for more specific details.

Q:Why can't these be used horizontally? I was going to cut and frame this out to fill a gap in our wall that is 63" wide x 18.5" tall.

A: Hi Tyson,
Our panels are made with a 1- 1/2" border all the way around. They are part of the panel and not in addition to the size.
It is not necessary to add a cap unless you want to.
let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you,
