    It is plastic and will melt. That actually is one of the features that allows you to apply to corners and other unusual shapes. If you are worried about heat and fire, you need to consider a different coating.

              I think so. It adheres pretty well. It would be like putting any other contact paper up for the same purpose. Decorative and durable, but probably not as durable as a tile covering.
