It is plastic and will melt. That actually is one of the features that allows you to apply to corners and other unusual shapes. If you are worried about heat and fire, you need to consider a different coating.

I wouldn't. Though it may stick, heat from the hood may cause a reaction with the adhesive causing it to bubble and release.

It can be used on a back splash, but to get the best performance from the liner, the surface of the back splash must be smooth and dry when the liner is applied.

I think so. It adheres pretty well. It would be like putting any other contact paper up for the same purpose. Decorative and durable, but probably not as durable as a tile covering.

As long as you try to get as much humidity and water out of the way, it will stick just fine. If you look up how tints on cars are installed, it will help to give you an idea on how it should work.

Creative Covering adhesive liner is make to be removable unlike the older vinyl shelf liner. The adhesive being used on Creative Covering is a "water based" adhesive that allows for easy removal and leaves no residue on the mounting surface.
