Q:I plan to use this (cut into the right size pieces at a store) to frame a bathroom mirror. I need to know what type of primer is used as I plan to paint with latex or oil based paint. Can anyone clarify?

A: Looks like latex. Should accept any paint. I used it for crown molding. Typically a sample jar size of paint is all you will need.

A: You could call HD but I’m pretty sure you have to get the 8ft and if you do it in store they can cut once fo r free

A: You will have to buy an 8 foot piece of this moulding. I would call your local store to see if they will cut the piece for you when you pick it up at the store (choose ship-to-store for pickup when you order it online).

A: Hi mj, thank you for your inquiry. The proper way to install new baseboard is to remove your existing baseboard. This way you will have a clean finish and not have any gaps. We hope this helps.
by|May 19, 2020
A: Yes, the existing baseboard needs to be removed.
by|May 20, 2020
A: Yes, you should remove all existing baseboard before installing this molding. This model is basically flat on the back and intended to be installed flush against the wall. I have seen other models of baseboard molding that can be installed over existing molding. Search for one that is L-shaped on the back.
