A:  We strongly recommend that you use all 5 shelves as they do add to the stability of the unit. Removing shelves or having too much space between sections or having an unbalanced load (Heaviest weight on top) can result in an unstable unit.

A:  The MR482478W5-R includes the rivet lock system, as opposed to the tab system on the model that is $40 less.The cheaper one with the tabs, gets horrible reviews, and a reviewer pointed out the difference, and I was sold.

A:  The item comes with "5" wire or grated selves as the decking for this unit.

A:  Yes, this can be made in to two units. Look on the Home Depot page and in the images, it shows it set up that way as well.

A:  Yes, I just did. Fig. 4 in assembly instructions show that, however they only send you 4 rubber feet for the bottom legs, and only one has 3 shelves.

A:  Charlie, I am sorry, the answer is no. The beams and Braces cannot be inverted to create the lip. The tabs that secure them in place can only be inserted one way and not upside down.

A:  The person who gave the dimensions of the packed box is very wrong. It is 2 foot x 4 foot x 5 inches. It is quite heavy though.

A:  Package can fit in a car trunk/back seat. I pickup one earlier this week.

A:  The box is approximately 79 X 48 1/2 by 8 1/2

A:  With high humidity and condensation, the steel unit may rust. Any moisture is not good for steel shelving and can cause rust.
