What are the differences between the N2R482478W5B and N3R482478W5B units? The photos and specs seem to be identical except that the N2R shelf is $40 more than the N3R.
Hello. The NR3 is the updated model from the NR2. The major difference was an improvement in the tab design for connecting the post to the Beams and braces for easier assembly.

How to divide into two units
I broke down the six shelf unit into two units and it works fine. You just have to use the padded tops on the upper poles as the bottoms for the second unit.

You have the option to set it up as either a 72" tall unit or a 36" tall unit. To achieve the 36" height, you simply do not connect the 36" posts together with the connectors. Can caster be easily installed on it ?

What is the actual outside width of the 36in unit. I have exactly 36in of clearance.
AP22, the outside width for this shelf is exactly 36”.
Is this self standing?
Hello Clark, the shelf will stand on its own. But any shelf if bumped hard or with an unbalanced load is capable of tipping over. We always strongly recommend that you anchor and shelving units to ensure that they remain in place and safe. Thank you.
