There is a cheap (orange) tool that pushes the mustard yellow gripper back into the fitting - this allows the pipe to be withdrawn

It is best to purchase the "Disconnect Clip" for the pipe you are trying to disconnect.

Hello, We make a special fitting for use on Polybutylene (Model # U4008LFA) the gray end of this fitting is made for use on Poly-b and will allow you to transition from Poly-b into Copper, PEX, or CPVC. All Standard SharkBite fittings will work on Copper, PEX and CPVC, so the fitting you've inquired about will work on Copper, PEX, CPVC but you'd need to buy a transition fitting to use on the Poly-B. The Poly B fitting is available on Hd.com and in-stores. Thank you for your inquiry.

Sunlight will damage ANY plastic that is exposed to it's UV rays over time. The effect is usually discoloration and brittleness. (The sleeves are exposed plastic)

No, using the fitting outdoors will not void the warranty. One exception to this rule is freezing temperatures, you must insulate these fittings just as you would any other plumbing fitting. Also, sunlight will not damage the fitting.

They guarantee 20 years but they do use a rubber gasket inside as a seal so I'm not sure how much longer one can count on them after that.
