    A:  It's been over 6 months since I installed it. The screws were long enough to go thru 1/4 inch paneling, 1x4 and 1/2 inch sheetrock and into the wall studs. I could have used lag screws that I already had on hand. I don't remember. Whatever you use should at least 2 or more inches into the wall stud. Use must hit the wall stud to support the weight these shelves will carry.

      A:  All of the items are coated but given their metal components I would not put them where they would get a lot of water exposure such as outdoors.

        A:  Hello there! We have the shelves in my tack room, in the barn, and it doesn't show any signs of rusting at all. It is indoors, but obviously in a humid place, and looks as good as new. It's also nice and sturdy. Hope this helps you, Linda
